[News] The Good Humor Man Goes To The Dogs 1 Attachment(s) Companies appear to be on a never-ending quest for ways to pamper your pooch, and here's the latest evidence: Ice cream maker Good Humor and pet food producer Pedigree have announced plans to produce ice cream sandwiches for dogs. Apparently this is not a stupid pet snack. The companies said they needed a special formula for the dairy treats, as many dogs are lactose intolerant and cannot easily digest regular ice cream. Pedigree Ice Cream Sandwich Treats for Dogs will be dairy-based and have the same texture as ice cream, but contain only 1 percent lactose. The treats also will have added protein and no sugar, and are "pawsitively delicious," the firms' press release exclaims. A package containing 6 frozen yummies will sell for $3.99. We think this is just the beginning. How about franchising canine ice cream stands? They could be called ... Barking Robbins. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15143552/ |

This would be great. I won't have to sneak around to have an ice cream now, Ruby can have one too!! Hiding from her was not easy. lol!!! I know it will happen though.......sons, or husband is going to mistakenly eat one:eek: |
do you know if they are selling them already? |
Oh no...just what Hootie and Hobbs need!!!!! |
lol... i know right.... isnt this such a great idea! |
I think this is great too, and I thought I was the only one who had to sneak around (away from my furbaby) to enjoy a scoop of vanilla icecream. :animal-pa |
We have stuff in our freezers at Ralphs here in California caled Paws. It is Ice cream made for dogs. dairy free so my max can eat it. I love the stuff. its in the freezer section normaly on th top shelf so the kids don't pick it out wanting to take it home! I will look into this though also when it comes out! |
I would love to check something like that out, but I don't allow my dogs any commercial companies like that. Luckily, the boutique and bakery I work for makes all human grade ingrediant non-dairy ice cream for dogs so i know there isn't a bunch of crap in it. But that's just me. |
I just found ice cream for sami & tilly at Safeway.. It's called Frosty Paws frozen treats for dogs  you get 4 cups and it's made out of soy.. they really love it!!:D I haven't seen this one in markets yet? |

I give Abby and Leo both a little bowl of ice cream every once in a while. On Leo's birthday I bought sherbert for them and neither liked it. I think I would try the dog sandwichs for them. Stephanie, Abby ::aimeeyork :animal-pa & Leo:animal36 :animal-pa |

Dairy Queen is open year round here. I didn't realize that any closed down in the winter until my oldest son worked there. He lives in Delaware. |
Purina already has had ice cream on the market in the litte cups that you peel the paper lid off of. they come in packs of 4 and are called Frosty Paws. they are in vanilla and peanut butter and are made with no sugar.
