[News] Family Offers $10k Reward for Seizure-Responding Yorkie 1 Attachment(s) MCHENRY, Ill., July 14 (UPI) -- An Illinois family is offering a $10,000 reward for the return of a Yorkshire terrier who can sense when their daughter is going to have an epileptic seizure. The terrier, named Faithful, ran away more than two months ago following a run-in with an unleashed dog, the Chicago Tribune says. When Connie Sheetz gave Faithful to her daughter, Christine, five years ago she had no idea the little Yorkie would be a life-saver. He showed an uncanny ability to respond to Christine's seizures, barking and summoning help within minutes of her being stricken. It was especially important if Christine had a seizure in the middle of the night. Sheetz, who has had epilepsy since she was 2, said Faithful would respond to her seizures even when the dog was in a different room or upstairs. The family has printed 900 fliers and 150 posters in an effort to get Faithful back. They purchased a new Yorkie named Hope who so far hasn't exhibited any seizure response skills. http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.ph...4-123157-4716r |
OMG, how sad!! I live in the same county as these people, and I had no idea... I really hope they find their dog, it's not every day you come across one as special as her.:( |
Oh how sad and what a unique dog they must have. I hope they find their dog soon. |
This has been all over the news here in IL. I hope they find their dog, but 2 months already is a long time :( |
I hope they find their dog. Its sad that they have to put out that type of reward to try to get it back |
Lost Yorkie That is so sad. Two months must seem like forever to that poor little girl and her family. I also wonder about "Vivi" that champion Whippet that was "lost" at JFK Airport in NYC.:animal-pa |

Missing Dogs  I "googled" Vivi the champion whippet & can't find anything new--unfortunately, I guess that means they haven't found her. What is the other dog that is missing? |
that is crazy you'd think with that kind of areward they would of gotton her back by now. I hope they get her back and all is well. |
As a person who has seizures, I feel for the family. My pups don't sense it, but my sister's lab does. If I am over her house, and one is going to come on, he will sit next to me and whine and lick my hand. My sister and BIL couldn't believe it. He never acts like that normally. He will not leave my side until it is over. I hope they find their precious yorkie. |
I hope she is back home! |
