[News] Man Punches Yorkie to Death Outside Pub A man from Newport in South Wales has escaped Jail, after punching his pet Yorkie so many times that it had to be put to sleep. Leighton Martin Collins, 50 admitted to punching the dog repeatedly in the face after the Yorkshire Terrier, one of the world's smallest breeds of dog, had "shown him up", as Collins put it. Collins had been drinking and admitted to having had 5 pints of beer prior to the incident. He was drinking at the public house where his partner is the landlady, and felt that the dog was "showing him up" in front of the other customers. He told the court "He has bitten a couple of customers in the pub so I took him outside to sort him out. To be honest with you it got a bit out of hand and the last thing I know was that I was whisked away by my brother and the last time I seen the dog Jan had him in her hands." Collins admitted that he felt 'shown up' by the little dog, after he had received a bite. "That set me off a little bit. You know, showing me up. Because he did show me up in front of 20 people and you know what people are like, they laugh, and who's the governor here?" Despite admitting to the assault on Buster the Yorkshire Terrier, Collins now represents another example of perpetrators of extreme cruelty to dogs escaping custodial sentences. He has been ordered to pay fees up to £1,012.89 which includes vet fees. http://www.k9magazine.com/viewarticl...0&vid=0&npage= |
Do you search for these awful stories, FE? Wonder how that guy would feel if he'd been shown up by a woman. I'd have knocked him into next week.... Poor baby. I don't think living with this guy was the lap of luxery either....beer or no beer. |
I think he looks day and night for these news stories. Shown up, by his dog, sound like that wouldn't take much.. what a total waste. |
What a man!!! |
What a pig. He should have received a custodial sentence. That makes a disgrace of the very fine animal rights laws we have in this country. How shocking |
That poor little dog. People who do things like this to a helpless animal ..I'd like to string them up. Well.. I just hope someday this man runs across someone bigger then he is and they beat the living snot out of him...what a JERK...   |
what a disgusting person, the punishment isnt enough for someone like him |
How sickening.....Maybe someone should punch him and then put him to sleep next. I am with others here do you look for horrible stories? |
What a jerk! I cant believe some people! |
Aw how sad for the yorkie!! That person woulld definitely be a dangerous person with children too if he has that kind of temper |
 What a JERK!!!! Poor lil furbaby!!!! :( What kind of person is he!,hurting a living being !!! Queen Lily :aimeeyork & Mommy Lene :animal-pa |
No, Yorkie stories just come to me, sometimes they are good, sometimes they are bad... :( |
I hope the Yorkie had rabies when he bit that guy. |
What a heartless idiot! |
this is so terrible!! I wish I could (show him up) Someone should do the same thing to him!!! |
what a dumb man |
That is absolutely horrible. I think that he should go to jail for life. Because that is just as bad a murder. I hope that he gets what he deserves. |
Thats the kinda guy I'd enjoy taking a baseball bat to.... |

If we can put our aggressive pets to sleep, why can't we put our own aggressive "animals" to sleep? Do you realize how much garbage and waste ONE individule can make in a life time? The world would be a better place w/o him! |
how sad THAT MAKES ME SICK,what could he be thinking yorkies are the most lovable dogs in the world,i would never own another breed of dog,but you are right what comes around goes around :aimeeyork    |

I am sorry if i upset you by talking about it, it was just so so sad, i was the same, i could not stop thinking about it...what made it worse i live in Flinthshire, just the other side of chseter...somebody broke in my house in Feb and they stole my little boy, Cai, who i bought all the way from Sheffield, he was only 5 months old, nobody has seen or heard anything, i kept thinking what it.....it is unlikely but i couldnt stop thinking what if it was....i bought Cai to show and maybe breed, he was my little boy, there was something there, some strange connection, i just cant describe it...and they took him away.....i could never ever forgive them......i believe in what goes around comes around.....i hope it does to all of them....but the thing is.....they dont get a hard enough punishment.....and that is why they do these thing.....jail they should get...or give them to an animal lover... Sorry again |
