oh man. that's terrible. poor little zoe, i hope she's okay. where we live in london, there are loads of people who walk their dogs off lead and they're invariably one of the bull terrier breeds. i've had badger now for four weeks and been walking him for two but every walk is a constant watch out for a staff or another type of terrier. what's frightening is that these dogs can't be kept under control by a grown man let alone the kids that walk them. i shudder to think what would happen if one got hold of my little boy. just the other day i walked past a shop (without badger) and out of nowhere this staff came right past us, no lead and no owner in site. imagine if i'd been walking my puppy! staffs are notorious for going after yorkies especially in parks round here i've thought about carrying pepper spray or a tazer but both are illegal here. i will say though that if another dog ever goes for badger, i'm likely to get very, very angry and i won't be responsible for what happens to that dog or their owner  |

WOW! That is so sad! :( |
i know how awful it is as i nearly lost my sascha to a great dane! i was out walking on the beach with my 3 yorkies (they were on leads) and i suddenly got the urge to look to the entrance of the beach and i saw a massive great dane running towards us.i tryed so hard to pick all 3 of my babies up,but in the petrified state i was in i dropped my 12 week old little boo-boo,i was screaming at boo-boo but he was off like a rocket running back to the entrance of the beach,i was so scared as at the entrance there is a busy car park and i was thinking oh lord please dont let him get run over. the great dane didnt chase boo-boo,i think as boo is so tiny he didnt see him. anyway the great dane was jumping up at me and i was holding my 2 fur babies up in the air out of his reach, but im not very tall and he got poor sascha, and started shaking her violently,i didnt know what to do so i hit the great dane over the head with my lead and he dropped her luckily and ran off to his owner who was only just entering on to the beach! she saw what happened and had the cheek to have a massive go at me and said i was lucky that she wasnt going to ring the police on me for beating her dog! anyway Someone found Boo in the car park and kept him safe for me,sascha had 2 broken ribs but was fine in the end thank god! Everyone protect your babies,as they cant protect themselves, and just remember NO BIG DOG CAN BE TRUSTED!!!! |
Rip her a new one.... OMG....I am just in the right frame of mind today.....first the posting on the kid being humiliated at school .....now this....and the owner yelling at you about the Great Dane......she would have been minus a ear drum....I would have blasted her for allowing her dog to run loose...then I would have followed her to her car got her tag number and reported her to police.....we have a leash law..... What is happening to me today.......is this menopause..????? ha ha ha ha oh well, it will only last for........5-10 more years...he he he... :D |
Dont worry I blasted her alright! You could tell she wasnt a lover of small breed dogs! i should have reported her but i was so concerned about finding boo and getting sascha to the vets i just didnt think! i now hate walking my babies,im scared and i only take 1 out a time now,so that i can be sure i will be able to protect them if need be.I hate large dogs off leads, they are no competition for our fur babies. |
