Puppy survives being euthanized in OK |
Why did it take a story like this to find a home for this guy. Makes you wonder if they were sick at all. And they threw them in the dumpster? |
There are a couple more articles on this thread I posted yesterday. I still can't get over it. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...uthanized.html |
Wow, talk about a quick-kill shelter. In one day the PTS. I think it has more to do with overcrowding than the pups being "sick". Just my first impression, but a wake up call on many levels. |
Unbelievably sad any way you look at it:( |
:animal36:aimeeyork Oh my how very very sad!!! I wish no animal would ever be unwanted & then no need for a sad and scary pound. Poor little puppy!:animal-pa |
Oh, I hope they chose to place this little baby with known dog lovers in the community who have a responsible track record of dog ownership. |
My mom e-mailed this to me. Such a sad story, but hopefully it will push more people to adopt from shelters. From what I heard, hundreds of people wanted to adopt Wall-e. So I hope some adopt another dog in need instead. |

I often think about that too, when I see things on the news about animals & all of a sudden people are eager to adopt them. We had an incident in our area where a bag full of lab mix puppies was thrown out on the side of a road. A snow plow driver saw the bag move and stopped & discovered the puppies tied inside the bag, left to die in the freezing Michigan cold, & rushed them to a vet. The story was on the local news and so many people were calling in to adopt the puppies...yet there were lab mixes at the pound the past few weeks too. It concerns me that it seems like a kneejerk reaction in deciding they want a puppy, rather than a well thought out decision. |
That is beyond horrible. how could they put down 3 month old puppies. AND THEN JUST THROW THEM IN A DUMPSTER. Those people need to be fired. |
Surely the workers at the shelter know the saw-the-sad-story-on-tv type who react out of true concern but aren't really familiar with what they are getting into and screen for that. Just seems that since this poor little guy has had such a horrible start at the hands of irresponsible humans, he should only be placed in the loving hands of a truly responsible dog lover who can watch and get treatment for possible late-effect problems with the amount of drugs that he had. And no doubt he's been a bit spoiled at the shelter/foster as is his rightful due so he might be a bit of trouble when at first fitting in with his new family. I would just hate to see this dog returned and have to go on the market again, so to speak. That would be an even greater tragedy - essentially thrown away twice. |

No wonder so many ppl on here are down on pounds and animal control what the cream cheese is going on with animal control agencies out of my area? PTS and put in a dumpster...puppies...sick with what...inadequate...think perhaps they should be closed...or they are really smart and need to have a streak of these "incidents" either or scenario it disturbs me... |
