[News] World's Tiniest Dog, A Yorkie!

The Guinness Records website currently lists "Big Boss", a Yorkshire Terrier, as the smallest dog in the world. "Toy dog" is the breed classification including the Chihuahua, Pekingese, Shih-Tzu and Yorkshire Terrier. These diminutive doggies may be small in stature, but size doesn't matter in the dog world. (Anyone who's seen a Rat Terrier take on a German Shepherd in a barking contest will back me up on this one!)

Although Ondra's tragic accident comes as a great loss to the world, we at The Scoop would like to leave you with a few not-so-tragic accidents highlighting the toy dog's unerring capacity to get into a ridiculous mess:

"Chilly Dog"

With guests on the way and meal preparation in high gear, no one noticed Rex, the wily Yorkshire terrier, climb into the refrigerator (perhaps disguised as Yorkshire pudding). By the time he was discovered, the well-chilled pooch had managed to nosh half the family's holiday ham. Diagnosis: Pancreatitis from overindulgence; hypothermia from excess refrigeration.

"Nailed"

Enu, a Yorkshire terrier, took "sleeping at the feet of his master" a step too far when he climbed into his owner's work boot for a little snooze. Not realizing his puppy was in there, the owner tried to pull on his boot. Diagnosis: Scratched cornea from owner's toenail.
