[News] Find Thugs That Tied Yorkie To Fence and Left Him To Die 1 Attachment(s)   May you rest in peace, little Zimba. These people are just evil! --- Glasgow, Scotland-THUGS tied a family's pet dog to a fence and left him to starve and freeze to death. The five-year-old Yorkshire terrier was found in a disused industrial site in Royston, Glasgow, with his lead tightly knotted round the wire. SSPCA rescue workers, who discovered the pedigree dog, say he probably died of hypothermia and starvation. Devastated owner Ellen Crall, 42, and her five children had been searching for little Zimba for over a month after he went missing during a trip to the supermarket. Animal rescue bosses say Zimba's case is just one example of the appalling cruelty inflicted on pets by callous thugs. SSPCA inspector David Allsop said acts of animal cruelty were happening on a daily basis in Glasgow. He said: "In all the areas that have problems with unemployment and deprivation, animals are neglected. Last week we dealt with three cases. "In one of them a cat had been kicked to death in Castlemilk. "We also dealt with a case where a cat had been placed in a cement mixer. It survived but had a broken leg. "You are talking about defenceless animals here. I don't know how these people can sleep at night." Zimba's cruel death has hit the Crall family hard. Ellen said: "I couldn't believe it. We hadn't really given up hope that he was alive. "When we got the lead back from the SSPCA it really hit it home. It's sick. I don't understand how people can do these things. "The children were crying their eyes out." Zimba disappeared from near the family's home in Provanmill, on December 13. Ellen's two youngest children Gary, 13, and Kayleigh, 12, frantically searched for the dog every day for a week. She said: "My daughter had taken him out for a walk. She had some shopping so she gave him to a friend to carry. He jumped out of his arms and ran away. "We were out searching all day. The kids were out every day for about a week." It also hit her older children Amanda, 23, Lisa, 21, and James, 18, hard. Mr Allsop, who found the dog, said: "The post mortem revealed it died of exposure to the cold and starvation. had a broken leg. "You are talking about defenceless animals here.
