[News] Pinellas County deputies seize more than 120 dogs Pinellas County deputies seize more than 120 dogs - Bay News 9 PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- More than 120 small breed dogs have been seized as part of an animal neglect investigation in North Pinellas County. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began Monday after members of the Florida Department of Agriculture and the Suncoast Animal League called deputies to a private residence located on Ranch Road in Tarpon Springs. The dogs were seized by the Suncoast Animal League and will be housed temporarily at three local animal shelters. Deputies found more than 120 small-breed dogs living in small wire crates inside the home. According to deputies, each of the enclosures contained 2-8 dogs. Officials said most of the dogs were living in their own feces and urine and some were injured. Suncoast Animal League officials said care for the animals ran up a large medical bill. As a result, the league is accepting donations to help with care for the animals. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, deputies will do an animal neglect investigation after which the matter will be referred to the state attorney's office to determine if criminal charges will be filed against the home owner and breeder, 69-year-old Teresita Hughes. |

Personally, I think that these people should be kept in a institution, in little cages, and brought out to do experiments on their tiny little brains so we can try and figure out just WTF these people were thinking! I am very happy to see that more of them are getting caught though! |
and another one bites the dust!!!!!!!!!!I feel so sorry for these dog:(s. |
this is very sad. |
We lost our baby and don't know where to get a new one We are new to the site. We just lost our 4 1/2 month old female yorkie to mysterious illness and we would like to get another yorkie but I am scared to trust anyone! I live in Louisiana and I wondered if anyone knows of Hartlan yorkies and if they are reputable? The lady seems to be quite nice! The pics are great and the pups are pretty...good guarantee and all that jazz! Anybody ever hear anything about this place in Mississippi????? You just don't know...also does anyone know if there are signs of liver shunts in puppies early on...before they develop the problems? Is a small yorkie necessariyl going to have it? |
Poor dogs Personally, I think that these people should be kept in a institution, in little cages, and brought out to do experiments on their tiny little brains so we can try and figure out just WTF these people were thinking! I totally agree YORKIEAUN. I now leave in Ontario but I come from Quebec the worst of all province in Canada with over 10 000 puppies mills:mad:!!! So shameful. I wish we could stop them all.Who are these poeple? How can someone be so cruel? It just brake my hart. Poor dogs. They just want to be love... |
Cruelty It seems someone in the Tampa Bay area is going around killing cats and torturing them and now Pinellas County. Humans are the cruelest animals on the planet and my Mom wonders why I don't watch the news. Between the cruelty to the elderly, the children and animals crying seems like not enough. I have started taking care of some feral cats and kittens within in our town and hope that at least by trying to get them spayed and tame enough for adoption while they are young is a step in the right direction. The humane society will not do a thing for the kittens or the cats not even help spay or neuter them or the puppies either. I have five animals living in my home already except for Sydnee they have been cast off and left to die on the streets. Not counting the ones I feed outside. I NEED TO BUY A BIGGER HOUSE! :p |
