fresh uncooked egg shells I know it's okay to add clean egg shells to provide one source of calcium, so I know egg shells can be okay. My concern is with the uncooked/raw ones. I dropped an eggshell and missed the trashcan. Of course Gizmo got it. I had just broken it into a recipe, so it was fresh. I know we have to be concerned about salmonella, etc... but generally, he should be okay, right? |
I would asume he will be fine... actually I know several people that supplement their dogs with that... of course, when you plan it, you wash it, but I repeat... He will be fine!!!!!!!!;) |

Many dog food recipes call for eggs, and they can be fed cooked or raw. Their stomachs are much tougher than ours, and though there is a small risk of them getting sick, as long is the dogs are generally healthy, it should be fine. If it makes you feel any better, I have fed my dogs raw eggs on several occasions, and I eat raw cookie dough-I just can't resist! |
He'll be fine. Lacy's been on a raw diet for a year and a half and has never gotten salmonella or e.coli or anything like that |
He'll be fine, there really is no need for people to bake and grind them. Salmonella is not a worry for healthy dogs. My lot have raw eggs once a week, occasionally they eat the shells, depends on their mood lol. |
Thanks everyone. Funny comment...my husband laughed at me and said, "Sometimes they eat poop, so how bad can an egg-shell be?" LOL!!:D |
