Menstruation? Help!!! Hi everyone. Demi is about 10 months old and she has been sleeping all day. Her vagina is swollen and there is a little blood there. I just want to make sure that she has started her period and there isn't something more serious going on. I will call the vet tomorrow morning first thing, but she was the runt of her litter and she weighs about 3.5 pounds...too little to go under anesthesia...advice anyone? |
Lil "Angel" Is this her first heat? I think my Minnie was about 6 or 7 mths when she first went into heat, she was like yours swollen,& a little blood too she went & hid under the bed,it scared her,,she also made a little nest,& stayed there for days  She also slept a lot too :aimeeyork I think your lil "AnGeL" will be ok :getwellso |
It probably is her period! I would check first thing in the morning with the vet though, just to be on the safe side. |
I am sure there is nothing to worry about its her first heat... they will get sleepy and cranky ...PMS just like you and I:) |
My Gucci was also the run of the litter. She was around 10 months when she got her first heat and she was as you described swollen, a bit of blood and she was sleeping a lot. Most likely is her first heat but if you are concern contact your vet. |
Sounds like she's become a woman! Nothing to worry about! It will last about 21 days and then will come every 6 months unless you get her spayed. :) |
Yes, this is her first heat. She will probably swell a little more and quit bleeding after two weeks. I wouldn't worry, but if your not going to breed her or don't want to deal with heats every 6 months, you can have her spayed. :) |
Your furbaby has become a woman... she is in heat. Chloe started at 10 mos., and it lasts for 3 weeks every 6 months. I had so many dogs peeing on my front porch...what a mess!! |
