Probiotics I have fed my current puppy plain yogurt or Kefir each morning since he came home of 10ml along with a half vitamin B as recommended by the vet for his lack of appetite. I will continue to do this as it strengthens his immune system and will also introduce it to the new yorkie baby:D . Does anyone else do this? It is one of the best things you can feed to your dogs:thumbup: I also do not feed commercial. I have Royal Canin kibble but he wont eat it anymore and that is fine. I might try introducing it in his cooked food bit by bit until my 5kilo bag is used up LOL. So far he may have eaten 8 ozs:eek: . When puppy number two arrives on Sat, I will also try my best not to make the same mistake I made with this first puppy by cold turkey changing foods. I will try to incorporate the cooked and a bit of his food bit by bit. I so wanted to feed this one home cooked I went to it cold turkey:rolleyes: , lack of experience is a heck of a thing. Now I know better:animal36 But the yogurt is a 7am ordeal with vitamins, then at 8am he has a terrific appetite. Vet also said the yogurt actually boosts the appetite along with the vitb:thumbup: |
I give mine yoqurt. They love it. I also give them cottage cheese in the evening |

I used to get this one to eat the cottage and kibble when he first came home, but that is a no no now. Hoping my second baby will eat it willingly and maybe this one will resume it. Thing is, I spoiled this one with syringe feeding him it, so he wont have it any other way. i may just lay a bowl and let them both eat it out. I think if he sees the yorkie eating it, he may want it more:rolleyes:  |
I am just starting Cali on supplements |
My furbabies get vitamin B-complex, vitamin E, yogurt for probiotics, cottage cheese for prebiotics, fish oil, etc. and they do very well!! I only homecook for them, no kibble at all. |
I have just started giving my girl cottage cheese and she loves it...can even get her to eat a bit of her kibble with the cottage cheese mixed in. My question is how much is too much? Should there be a limit to how often she can have this? Also, do you feed only plain yogurt when you feed it? I have been using organic everything for her, is organic yogurt and cottage cheese safe? |
yes, I use organic nonfat yogurt (Stonyfield) and sometimes I like to give goat's milk yogurt too. |
