Watery eyes and slobbering Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone's baby slobbered when teething? I know actual human babies do but do dogs do this also. Paisley's eyes have been watering but I think alot of that has to do with the hair growing out there and hopefully it will stop soon. I've also heard during teething they can have watery eyes also. She's 7 months old and will be getting spayed soon and I'm going to have the tear ducts checked then. However, for the past few days she seems to be slobbering/drooling so bad that her little chin is soaked. I checked in her mouth and she definately has some double teeth going on. Do you or has anyone's baby had this happen before? I have no idea if the teeth could cause her to slobber and I feel so dumb to ask but I seriously have no idea. She's acting herself and doesn't seem to be in any pain. I am just really confused because I never had this problem with the other girls before. I apprecaite any help, tips or anything that you might have to offer. :) |
I have never had that happen. I wonder if she bit her tounge or something that they might be some discomfort in her mouth. The watery eyes might be connected to her drooling also. Is she eating a pooping etc ok. How is her over all mood? Tina |
im not sure if you play tug a war with her but this will help the double teeth fall out. |
Thanks for the reply. She's eating, pooping and everything just as normal as ever. She is her typical little self and bouncing on her siblings. My fiance just asked if I was sure she was truly drooling and maybe its all from her eyes. I guess it could be but its kinda hard to tell. :( |

Oh thank you for suggesting that. She does play tug a war with her one sissy Trixie but I will play with her a few times throughout the day and maybe it will help. She's lost quite a few teeth but she still has the two eye teeth ones on top (which are now double) and it kinda seems like the one set is pressing into her gums. This is why I thought maybe she is drooling so bad. Poor thing but atleast she isn't acting like its bothering her at all. ;) |
Hi guys, I just wanted to let anyone that reads this know that I did call my vet this morning about this. I was kinda iffy if this was all coming from her eyes or if it was her eyes and mouth. Well, last night I got her all dry with the blow dryer and watched like a hawk. Her eyes are actually not that runny as I once thought. She is definately slobbering/drooling very bad. My vet said this was actually common for some dogs when teething. Since she is acting completely normal I was told not to panic but if she would start to vomit or anything then I should take her in. She doesn't seem to be in pain at all but I am noticing that she isn't playing as rough with her toys, so perhaps a little discomfort. I made her spay appointment today and cried when hanging up. :( |
Max went through the same thing. He was drooling so much his whole face and chest were soaked! I was so nervous because I didnt know what was causing it but it was his teeth he was drooling for 2 days...dont worry she is fine :-) |

I know how you feel....Bella is 6 months old and I'm scared about getting her spayed. I'm sure your vet will take good care of your baby. Keep us posted.:) |

Thank you so much but I'm still so scared for her. She's 7 months now and I'm still wondering if I should cancel and give her more time. :( Last year around this time Pia was spayed and I almost lost her. Ever since then I get incredibly nervous about every tiny thing with any of my babies. However, what happened with Pia was definately rare. I try to remind myself that but its still so hard. I just can't wait until this is all done and over. Thanks for the kind words. :) |

I JUST had Marcel neutered on Saturday and I was SO nervous. The next day, it was as if nothing was different - just his usual crazy self. I did wait until he was 11 mths old, so I did give him more time to gain weight and lose teeth. He still needed 7 teeth pulled. I dunno - maybe you'd feel better about it if you waited, but I bet she'd do fine either way. :D :D |
