Not Interested in Eating :-( My pup is 7 weeks and he is not really interested in eating a whole lot. I have him on soft Wellness for puppy and I mix it with softened Wellness Kibbles for puppies and plain yogurt. He will take a few bites and he looses interest... what can I do to flavor the food better or what will he for sure eat? He poops twice a day so I think he is nourished well but I don't feel like I do my job when he takes a couple bites. I offer him food twice every hour. |
You can add yogurt, cottage cheese, veggies or some chicken. |
Any updates? 7 weeks is really young to not be eating. If he continues to refuse to eat, you should supplement him with Nutrical to avoid any hypoglycemic episodes. You can also put Karo syrup in his water for him to drink while you're gone, and make sure to leave food available for him. Finally, be sure you're measuring his food-not just filling the bowl. That way, you can talk to your vet about exactly how much he is or is not eating. Best wishes and keep us updated! |
Hope he is eating now! |

1/2 cup goat's milk 1/2 cup gerber rice cereal 1 jar of gerber meat (i use beef) 1 tsp. karo syrup i add more and more kibbles (soft and crushed) everyday he is doing great. i am going to the pet store today to get a multi vitamin to put in that food. im so happy i found something i like. i felt that at this young at an age he needed some kind of milk in his diet. |
Great, thanks for the update! |
I am glad your baby is better. I am going through the same thing except my baby was in the hospital for a week because she was so dehydrated and malnourished. Someone gave me this same recipe and wow she ate on her own. good luck, hope everything goes great. |
