Distilled water question please.. I thought I read someone uses distilled water only for their baby to help with the runny eyes. I have always heard its not good to drink ONLY distilled water??? |
My vet recommended it to me. It does help, (along with Angels' Eyes) and they get all the minerals they need from their food, so they don't miss anything important;) |
Gee you got me on that one. Hope someone can help you. |

I use only distilled. It really helps with the eye stains. Did the person you heard it wasn't good from say why?? |
i use distilled too. mocha used to have super runny eyes and now it's much better. |
I was just searching the internet and all I could find regarding drinking distilled water (humans) was that it should be used to detoxify the body and not to drink long term so I was just curious as to what you guys were told. Also, when you open a gallon of distilled water, do you have to store the unused in the fridge? |
I don't store it in the fridge...just the cupboard. |

My furbabies also drink distilled water. Miko gets bladder stones, so the vet recommended taking him off of regular bottled water (which has a ton of minerals). |
i use distilled water but i boil my own. |
so if you boil your water it's the same as distilled? I didn't know that. How long do you boil it for? |
I heard from a Dr. that you shouldn't drink distilled water. Something about the cells in the body not holding together. I don't drink or or give it to the dogs. I use in in my steam iron to keep the hard water from clogging up the holes in the iron. |
I use it in my steamer too... |
It's because city water has flouride added so its better for their teeth, and ours at that. Distilled water lacks flouride. However, if your tap water is well water, there is no added benefit. |
