Collapsed Trachea Is there any medication to alleviate the caugh of a collapsing trachea? Thank you, Sugar and Spice's mom, Edie |
Yes they can give then a bronchodilator that open the airways some so breathing is easier also steroids. My 10 year old pom is on steroids now for a liver condition but it is also helping her collapsed trachea. However I don't think I would put her on steroids just for the CT, hers isn't that severe yet. . Definatley talk to your vet details |
I'd definetly discuss this with your vet. He/she would be able to give you the best answers. |
Sad, sad condition I believe my 4 year-old yorkie may have collapsed trachea. She has had counghing/hacking bouts lately which occur mostly after physical exertion. I took her to the vet and he treated her for kennel cough with an antibiotic injection and a take-home round of clavimox. He then hinted that the problem could indeed be collapsed trachea but stressed that x-rays were needed for a proper diagnosis of this sad condition. Does anyone have any advice or knowledge of this condition? I have never had any major health problems with her for 4 years. I hate for my baby to be sick. |
