What is the correct dosage for Benadryl? Just wondering. My vet said give our yorkies 1/2 of 25mg tablet. Well, actually one of the assistants told me that. Isn't that too much for a 4lb yorkie? I just wanted to know how much for just in case I would ever need it. |

I have a 10 pound Maltese, and I give him 1/2 teaspoon children's liquid Benadryl. So I would think for a 4 pound dog, it would be about 1/4 teaspoon. I find the liquid is easier to give using a dropper...just squirt it in their mouth! Good luck! |
Ellie's vet told me to give a certain number of MLs (don't remember how many) or 1/2 tsp. Ellie is six pounds and that may be a little bit less than normal but she doesn't want to overmedicate her liver. |
I think 1/2 tsp would be more than enough. I've never used the tablets either. |
i've never used tablets. 1 ml for Layla.. she is 5.5 lbs. |
1/2 teaspoon of childrens liquid when my puppy was 4 lbs. |
Thanks everyone...I just had not heard of anyone giving it in pill form and I though 1/2 of a 25ml tablet was too much. I will have to go and buy some liquid to have on hand. |
Winstin is 4lb. My vet said on Friday 2cc of liquid. |
When Stella was approx 5 lb the vet said 1 ml of childrens Benadryl |
What does Benadryl do for a dog exactly? |
same as for humans...for itching and allergies and allergic reactions. |
My vet prescribed it for car sickness. |
