Teeth Cleaning? I brush Aubreys teeth with Petzlife, and on this one tooth that I can't reach it has brown stuff on it, I am assuming tarter. Thats the only thing that I see is just on that one tooth. I am trying to decide if I want to take him when he turns a year to get his teeth cleaned, or until he goes for his 1 yr checkup in February. Do you get your yorkies teeth cleaned once a year? |
Ellie never had a cleaning til January when she had 9 teeth pulled. She needs a dental every 6 months but the vet said we could skip this time because they look good. She will get them cleaned if and when she gets spayed. It would have to be a good deal of tartar for me to consider anesthesia. |
Do You Brush Everyday With The Petzlife? I Do It Everyday With A Fingerbrush , And Sometimes I Use The Spray. He Had Some Tartar On His Back Teeth, But Since I Do It Everyday It Has Gone Almost Completely Away. Take The Fingerbrush And Try To Scrub That Tooth Gently. |
I don't do it everyday, I do it every couple days. Maybe I could work on that one tooth and get it cleaned! Then wait until his yearly to see what they say. |
Teeth cleanings are usually once a year, since they have to anesthetized I wouldn't want any more than that. At my vet they take a blood sample before hand to make sure he is healthy for the procedure, but if I don't go within (I think)60 days from the date of the blood test they make me pay for another blood test :mad: I brush Chip's teeth about once a week, but he allways has a bully stick available to gnaw on. I would wait until your puppy is fully grown before putting him under for an elective procedure. |
my babies get their teeth cleaned AT LEAST once a year. Bouncer goes TWICE a year. I have this thing with nasty teeth and I CAN'T STAND THEM! They get their teeth brushed once or twice a day as well. I also feed my guys greenies about 4 times a week. Bouncer gets once every day though since he's older and his teeth are groddier |
Only go if you think its necessary. Try working on that one tooth more than the rest. Theres no reason to do it every 6 months or a year if they don't need it. Anaesethic can be very harmful. |

I think if you work on that tooth with the finger brush you should be able to get it clean. |
