this might sound silly... but....Is it possible that maggie could get sick from me? I have strep and maggie has not left my side. I jut want to make sure there is no danger to her because i am letting her stay right beside me all the time. |

wow that was sort of convincing. I sincerly hope not but I would rather be safe than sorry. Do allot of hand washing and no kisses for a while. I would treat my dog like I would my husband if I had strep no kisses and lots of bed rest! |
Welllll, "strep" is a bug (streptococcus) - but there are lots of kinds (just like there are lots of "kinds" of colds). So, theoretically - a bug could jump to a different host and possibly infect the new host, or morph and infect the new host. To really know, you'd have to grow out the bugs in Petri and then identify them...but I think it could happen. Just think of ALL the crazy diseases/bugs we unearthed by mucking up the rainforests - all of those were from non-human hosts....yikes, huh? |
wow..that really stinks. i would hate to get any of my babies sick...skin or fur. but i will just stay in my bed and hope that nobody else catches it...especially hubby because he is a BIG baby when he is sick LOL but strep is horrible. i haven't felt this bad....well...in a very very long time. uck |
Sorry you're not feeling well. :( It's no fun being sick at all. :sickie: It's nice you can stay in bed and get the rest you need. Hope you're feeling better soon!:nursing: Here's your own private nurse. :) :getwell: |
I hope your taking your meds and getting plenty of rest. I hope nobody else in your family gets it. |
