Homemade shampoo recipes Does anyone have any ideas of what I can give bux a bath with made from products already around the house? I can't go out and get shampoo right now and he needs a bath really bad b/c he has bug bites all over him and I want to see if, maybe, if I bathe him, if he will feel better till we can get to the vet tomorrow.... thanks |
Personally I would use human shampoo in this case - must confess that I do anyway very often - I use Pantene shampoo and their conditioner too on my girls! Their hair is soft and silky for a long while afterwards. Do you maybe have some baby shampoo or any mild shampoo? If you have lavender aromatherapy oil add a few drops to the shampoo, it'll help ease your baby until you can get to a vet. All the best, Ana xx |
what kind of bug bites ? Poor baby - If you live in a house - you can spray your yard for bugs ....maybe when you go to the vet ask him what you can use to prevent him from getting bitten ? Mosquitos carry Lyme Disease so we need to be very careful with these little guys.....If you have nothing at all to use to bathe him - try diluting a little dish detergent and make SURE it stays away from his face... |
My dogs have all had human shampoo at sometime or other and I've accidentally had theirs with no ill effects (in fact mane and tail the horses shampoo is the best I have ever used my hair was lovely for days !) |
I always use Johnsons baby wash on my yorkies and no flaky skin or itching. That is what a breeder told me to use and it doesen't burn their eyes either |
well, we took him to the vet today and they did a skin graph (sp?) and told use that he had a bacterial infection  i don't know how he got it and they don't either. they gave hima shot and some antibiotics. Also, we're getting him neutered tomorrow.... :( poor baby |
Baby No More Tears Shampoo Poor Bux. He must be so uncomfortable. Is he getting his hair damp by sleeping near a damp spot? I would not give him another bath until his surgery cuts are healed over. I know some dogs like to sleep beside a toilet because it is cold, but is is also damp when the weather heats up. A vinegar rinse, avoiding the face, is a natural astringent and bugs hate it. I used is as a flea repellant when my boy was a baby and it worked great. Smells like Easter egg until hair is really dry. Give the little one a hug from me and Mickey :aimeeyork |
