Alternative to Canidae? I've been trying to switch Lucy over from RC Puppy to Canidae all stages but she's having none of it. When I mix it in she just pulls out the Canidae kibble and eats the RC. I would like to switch her but what should I switch her to? Is Royal Canine adult all that bad? She doesn't eat wet, only dry. |
All 4 of mine love CANIDAE BUT any of the 4 or 5 star rated products will be fine on this link: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...iews/index.php |
I don't feed dog food, but some of the premium foods that I've read people have had success with are Canine Caviar, Innova, Orijen... |
I also don't feed dog food but there are many alternatives that you could try, the dogfoodanalysis site is great. Personally I think Orijen is by far the most superior kibble. |
LOVE Orijen! Have you read their white paper? Incredible. http://www.championpetfoods.com/orij...hite_paper.pdf It can be hard to find, I actually bought it on eBay when I was using it for grazing. Also, I'd had a question about their food - I emailed Orijen and their NUTRITIONIST emailed me back, yes, their nutritionist. Loved it. I just really respect thier philosophy. I'm surprised she likes RC over Canidae - usually it's the other way around. Other good ones are Innova, Wellness, Cal. Natural...Artemis has a small bit one, I think. |
Lola did that at first when I tried to switch her. Of course they're going to want to eat what they're used to. It took me a couple times to switch her over(but it's worth it). The first time, she had gas sooo bad. But this last time it's working better, she now likes her food. I ended up just putting out the new food and not mixing it. She'll get used to it. It's not easy getting kids to eat things they don't like at first but are good for them, it's the same with fur babies. |
free samples I have free samples of the Life's Abundance - all natural holistic MADE IN AMERICA dog and cat foods. It is delivered straight to your door from the manufacturing plant in CA. It does not sit in warehouses or store shelves..just made fresh and mailed via UPS to your front door. There is no corn, no wheat or soy, and no by-products. Just pm me if you would like to try her on it. It is also an all life stages food that is formulated for puppies, adults and seniors so there is no need to switch around or if you have more than one dog, you don't need different dog foods for different ages. :) My girls LOVE this food and they tried them all. This has small kibbles and passed the taste test with flying colors. There are lots of great dog foods out there...just read the labels on whatever you end up getting Lucy and make sure there is no corn, no wheat or soy, and no by-products in it. Good luck! I know a lot of people homecook but i don't have time to even cook for myself! LOL! Click below to read more information about it. :D |
