need advice! i was playing with Roman last night when i noticed that the long shaper tooth (sorry i dont know that names) on the bottom has grown in but the baby tooth is still there. its not wiggley or anything. i think its the only one of this baby teeth to do it. we play tug of way with him allllll the time. i worried because i dont want to put him under anesthetic (sp?). are there any other things we could try?? |
hey im right with ya on this.im waiting for my tucker to lose his front one also. he lost 2 back ones this week but hes having alot of trouble with the front and i can also see the new tooth behind the baby one.he keeps hitting his mouth with his paw like he did with the others im just hoping it works with this one good luck to ya |
Im with ya....Diggy has both bottom doubled up right now:( |
I think those are what they call the caines (sp) the long front upper/bottom fangs. My lil one has both the baby ones on top and bottom and the new adult ones on top and bottom also...I am playing tug a war with her all the time in hopes that I can get them to loosen up and come out, but so far they are holding on tight...I may have to have all 4 of them extracted when I take her in for her spay/chip... |
dont give up on the tug a war!! i didnt and skoshi lost all his baby teeth even after a couple of them doubled up. i was persistent and i also wiggled the tooth a couple times a day and finally it became loose.(not hard but just like wiggling it to see if it is loose.) also if its on the left side try to have him biting the rope on the left side and playing tug a war and vice versa |

I have some special dental chews that Penny loves-- they're called CET chews and look almost like a pig ear, though they aren't pig ears. She's lost most of her baby teeth while chewing away on those things. She still has some doubles though-- I'm going to try more tug-of-war too after these suggestions. |
Max had the same teeth doubled and I was worried about the same thing but u know what he lost one!! so Im hoping the other one falls out too. I think him chewing on the pixie stick helped cuz when I gave it to him, that night his tooth fell out :) |
They're called eye or canine teeth. Luckily Pennys fall out by themselves. |
How old can a puppy be before it's time to start worrying about the baby teeth? |

maybe ill have to get some stronger for his to chew on. all he has is nyla bones. i heard that sweet potato skins are safe for our dog...does anyone know if they would work for this? |
Teeth Samson had a full double set. We waited it out, brushing daily and giving plenty of OK things to chew on. I took awhile, but they all fell out on their own and his bite is perfect. |
I know some don't like them but bully sticks are what I used on all mine, and they all came out but 1 tooth, on 4 babies...:D |
