Coat Handler products will solve your problems Please believe me when I say Coat Handler products will solve your problems. I had a very similiar problem with my five year old Yorkie. He was put on antibotics, but the problems reoccured. He had scabs all over his back, sores about the size of a ringworm on his abdomen, and flaky skin very much like sunburned skin. I was desperate, like you, to find a solution so I picked up a book called Yorkies Head to Tail by Sandra Lemire who produces the Coat Handler products. She said that residue from the oils, etc in most shampoos and conditioners builds up on their skin and will eventually causes all kinds of symptoms like the ones you describe, even bacterial infections. I started using Coat Handler 15 to 1 shampoo and 15 to 1 conditioner once a week for six weeks. I also put skin works (a cream) on all the affected areas three times a day as recommended. Within 8 weeks max I had no problems whatsoever. I am continuing to use these products. In fact, I would never consider using anything else. Jad |
Wondering how everything is going? If you are looking for a new vet, I recommend trying to find an accupuncture vet. My accupuncture vet, who was 1st trained as a regular vet, takes a holistic approach. The herbs and alternative treatments might be a way for you to go. It sounds like one medication, may just be causing the next problem. Here's a link to my vet's case study page - the very 1st study is about a Bichon with similar problems: http://www.apvet.com/case.html Here's a link to find an accupuncture vet near you: http://www.aava.org/pub/city.html It does sound like allegies to something or several things. |
