Help my baby is Snorting/Chest Congestion? Hello, My Nene' has been snorting or trying to clear his nose for the past few days what can it be and how can I help him? Maria:confused: :( :animal-pa |
Sorry, my babies have never had this problem. Have you called the vet. |
my baby has this too...but only sometimes ...he likes to swim and after a long day of swimming he does this... he sneezes a lot...thats normal right? |
How old is he? Could he have kennel cough or allergies? If it continues I would have the vet take a look. |
Sorry to get back to all of you so late, but I've been in school so today is the only day and time I've had since my post. I made an appt for him to see the vet on Friday, Sept 14. He will be getting a complete physical and I will have them check for parasites as well. I only take him out in my area and he doesn't swim or go nearby any water unless it's bathtime which he wants done quickly. Is there anything else I should be checking during this annual physical? Do vets do blood work on annual visits too just like humans? So far yesterday and today his snorting has lessened but I still plan on taking him in next Friday. I contacted his breeder and she recommended to start giving him acidophilus in his food and to check for parasites/worms. Also to give him more fresh semi-cooked vegetables and fruits and plain nonfat yogurt in his diet. Will let you know his results. Many thanks, Maria and Nene':animal-pa :aimeeyork ;) |
Sorry, I just now saw this thread. Two weeks ago my Mango had the same symptoms - kind of a snorting/sneezing/trying to clear the throat sound. After 2 days, I took her to the vet, and it turned out that she did have a mild case of Kennel Cough, even though she had been innoculated against it. She was given a shot and put on an antibiotic immediately. My Vet said that Yorkies have extremely delicate Trachea's and any such symptoms should never be ignored. Just thought I would give you a heads up. Hope your baby is fine. |
