Here is what I sent them............I was thrilled when I discovered Merrick food for my dog.......she loved it and I felt like I was giving her a quality product. As the weeks went on, I've complained numerous times to the store I purchase the food from, asking if they knew if Merrick had changed their formula. The cans are totally full of liquid, which I have to drain off because my dog does not like her food THAT wet. The smothered comfort, by the time I drain the liquid off all she's getting is a thigh (that doesn't even look like a thigh anymore) a few little cubes and "a" pea and a piece of carrot (there is about a half a can of product) "maybe". The large can's of the Wingaling used to have 3 wings and now it only has two, and a LOT more fluid in there too. She also eats the Grammy's Pot Pie and Turkducken which also are filled with liquid. I have saved every empty can of food I have purchased within the past three weeks to a month and can provide the numbers on the cans at your request. I do have to say I am extremely unhappy. I hope you can return to making your product to your old standard, which I felt was a much better quality and quantity. Thanking you in advance for your help with this matter. Sincerely, |

I've never fed Lacy Merricks but one of my cats has eaten their canned food for the past several months. I also think some of the cans are a little too watery, but then some are very thick. If the watery cans are a new problem, I hope they fix it because Merricks has always been a great quality food. If Lacy wasn't on a raw diet, that is what I would be feeding her. |

Here is the email I sent to Merrick's: I am writing to complain about the recent changes in the quality of your canned dog food. The product is watery and has less meat. My dog has noticed the difference as well and picks at it where she used to gobble it down. We pay a premium price for what we have come to know as a premium product. I would rather pay a bit more than be surprised with less in the way of a watered down product. Many of my fellow dog owners feel the same way and plan on switching to another brand if you do not return your product to its previous quality standards. |

Sent email I sent a email today. I have also noticed less portions of meat in the cans. I have seen so many other all natural brands to try. I told them that too! I am going to do some more research. I heard dick van pattens was good.:animal-pa |

I noticed the change in the food about 3 months ago. It used to have more meat and the juice was thicker, almost like a gravy. I opened a can of Turducken and it was all watery and soupy. I thought it was just a problem in production in that particular batch, so I bought some Wing-A-Ling and Smothered Comfort (Basil's fave). All of the cans that I opened were like this and he wouldn't eat it anymore. It's a shame because it used to be such a great food.:( |

I bought a can of Evangers today. I will try it on Gracie in a few days after I am sure her tummy is used to the Ziwi Peak. I don\'t want to do too many changes all at once! I also e-mailed Evangers and asked for some samples. I will let you know how Gracie likes it. |

I\'ve tried quite a few of the other quality brand foods and Brandi doesn\'t eat them as well as she does the Merrick.......and she won\'t eat duck, or any of the other specialty foods that Merrick makes......I\'m gonna try the Evo Innova again.....but she\'s so picky.......and I find feeding her table food makes her sick......I sure hope Merrick steps up to the plate.......and fixes their product |

I am impressed with the Evangers. Thanks Des! I got Gracie a can of the wing drummets. That is all that is in the can, wings! Gracie liked it but she still won\'t eat the Merrick kibble. I wonder if Merrick changed the kibble formula as well. Has anyone else\'s baby stopped eating the Merrick kibble? |

No Word From Merrick So far no word from Merrick I am going to try Fromm. The ingredients sound great. I also have this pet warehouse near me that sells it for a great price. The only time Jackson eats the Merrick kibbles is when he is extremely hungry. I want him to enjoy his food all the time. I will donate all of the dry Merrick food to the shelter if Jackson still refuses to eat it. I will slowly mix it with the fromm. I will let you all know what happens.:animal-pa |

I opened a Wingaling the other day that had 3 wings and lots of veggies in it. It came from the same case as the others that were less full. Do you think we should just feel or shake the cans before buying? I don\'t know how the stores would feel about that. |
|
I don\'t think they would like that, but who cares its our money right? I am so unhappy with the turdurken and grammy pot pie, no more gravy just water. Poor Jackson just spits out the kibbles, they must have changed the recipe. I wrote to Fromm for a sample. I read the can and bags in the store and its all natural. Also family owned like Merrick. |

I always shake the cans in the store..........every can that\'s out on the shelf..........but it\'s always the same liquid liquid liquid...... |

I alway feed Katy the dry food, so no problem with the water. I email them about something else in the spring. It took them about a week to reply. |
