Sentry Natural Defense Flea and Tick Powder

This product is similar to the drops from what I've gathered on the net. Only difference being is that it is in powder form, not in drops. This is not to be confused with the carpet powder made by the same company. Its a powder you place liberally in the coat of your pet.

I found like two ticks on each of my Yorkies the other day. I bought some of this powder yesterday and applied it to my yorkies exactly as explained on the container.

I woke up last night to my one furbaby, Maize, puking her guts out. I thought maybe the banana I was feeding her gave her an upset stomach :confused: so I made her white rice and chicken and held her for a while . She ate and seemed better, so I fell back asleep.

Fast forward to this afternoon...

I came home from work and she was extremely lethargic. She didn't even greet me when I opened the door. She wouldn't eat, play, nothing. I, naturally, started to get worried and wondered what her issue could be. It was then that it dawned on me that it could be this flea powder. I quickly bathed her and she was back to her old self eating and playing like nothing ever happened within minutes.:eek:

I thought this stuff was all natural (the reason I bought it), but now I'm starting to wonder... I don't think its an allergy as she had no other reaction except for her demeanor.

I just wanted to give a heads up to someone who might contemplate using this or searches for this product on the boards in the future... I wont be using this product again!

It seems that many dogs seem to be getting sick from flea and tick products. :confused: If you do a search, you will see that different products have caused similar reactions. I have been trying to find something natural to put on Spanky. I saw that some people mentioned different kinds of natural oils. Hopefully you will be able to find something natural and safe for your baby. Good luck!

I know this is a LATE reply to this post, but just because something is all natural does NOT mean your dog won't react badly to it. Humans and Animals can have different reactions to all natural and/or organic things the same as they can to non-natural things. I try to go all natural with everything that I can for me and my furbabies. Unfortuantely, sometimes it just isn't an option :( Hopefully you can find something on the internet to help you find another more natural alternative to the more common flea and tick treatments out there that are LOADED with chemicals. For now, add crushed garlic cloves to their food. It helps a lot. Just make sure you put the right amount. Too much is not good for them.
