Not interested in the food anymore... Missy seems to have no interest in the chicken + rice + veggies.... and ground beefs meals anymore. She takes a few bites...take a sniff when she walks by, and just leaves....having no interest in it anymore!! Her health and diet is good, nothing wrong with her (illness wise) she just seems tired of this food. What do you guys suggest me to do?? any plan B's? any help would be nice!! I don't want her to be hungry...I want her to feel fulfilled! lol she just seems overly picky right now, arghh. |
Have you tried ground turkey? how about switching out the starch for oatmeal or pasta? I cook up a batch every 2 weeks and try to vary the meats, starch and veggies. |
I always sprinkle canned Parmesan (in the green can) on their chicken and they LOVE it. It has a strong smell, which I think dogs love. They never tire of whatever I'm feeding as long as their Parmesan is on top. |

Keep it coming folks! but is cheese even good for them? (besides cottage cheese) |
Cheese is fine for them...Just remember, everything in moderation. A little sprinkle of parmesan won't hurt them. I alternate between ground turkey, ground chicken, ground beef, and egg for protein...And I alternate between brown rice, oatmeal, pasta, and stuff like that...Yes, oatmeal is good for them...Cook it with water. I like to add a little sweet potato(which she loves), carrots, and alternate between veggies like green beans, celery, zucchini and stuff like that. Right now, I'm feeding Emma ground chicken, rolled oats, carrots and celery... When you cook the oats...Make sure you boil the water, after it's boiling, add the oats and put a lid on the pot, and turn off the heat immediately...Leave them to sit like that for 15 minutes without taking the lid off...Do not stir, otherwise, they will get very sticky. |

Thankkkk you for very much! I will be heading to the store soon with my dad to buy everything you guys have suggested. I'm gonna cook her up a mean meal. :p Thank you, once again  :aimeeyork |
Hey guys, I just finished making oat meal + ground turkey and veggies for Missy... I'm waiting until it cools off, but I have a concern... Is it suppose to have a slimey feeling to it? The ground turkey is lean. |

I agree that it's probably the oatmeal... |
lol, k just making sure. It's the oatmeal, because I made the turkey first and it wasn't slimy. thanks |
Missy came upstairs this morning in my room, she laid down on my bed with me, and she started making whiny noises, like giving me a signal to go downstairs, so I went downstairs and there was a little bit of throw up... I am hoping it's not the food I made her (the ground turkey, oat meal w/ veggies) I'm hoping it was just the dental bone I also bought at the grocery stores. She swallowed a few pieces of the dental bone.... I also heard her tummy make a lot of noises last night. :thumbdown |
