New puppy and adult size Hello everyone. Scooter is going back to his original owners because they miss him too much. I can understand. I bought a yorkie baby last night and he was born 4/3/2005. He weights about 5 pounds now. I was wondering if anyone has any clues as to how big he might get. His name is Duncan. He is a cutie |
Here is a growth chart. It's kinda confusing to read. http://home.comcast.net/~kkingpdx/puppygrowthchart.html Take your pups age in weeks, his weight and then go to the bottom of the chart to find his final approximate weight.According to the chart, your pup will be over 6 lbs. I stink at explaining - hope someone else can give you better instructions. |
Our yorkie, Sully, weighed 3.2 pounds at 10 weeks...and he weighs 9 pounds now...if that helps. Congrats on your new puppy!!!! |
Sounds like I am going to have a big young man on my hands. He is all yorkie,so that much more to love. |

Thanks |
Hi there congrats on your new little one, there is a good chance your little man could be 7-10 lbs. have fun with him |
chart is easy but you need to convert the lbs to ounces 16 ounces to a pound so your little man is 80 oz. the chart you all are using is no longer available so if you want to refer to it, bookmark this one from my new site http://yorkiepassion.com/growthchart.htm |
My vet just told me that my little man is going to be about 18 LBS. He is chunky but that seems awfully big for an adult yorkie. |
I don't think that is correct...he is what...almost 12 weeks now??...I would say probably about 10 lbs...they always say double at 12 weeks |
Double at 12 weeks-that makes more sense to me. Thanks |

That interesting. Maggie has gained a pound a month since she was born. She is now 4mo. and 4 lbs. I just hope she slows down when she get to be 12 months old. |
LOL...Maximus was 2.1 lbs at 10 weeks..he stayed that weight for 3 weeks then went through a spurt and was 4.5 lbs at 17 weeks..he is now 19 weeks and has gained about an oz. |
My Gracie was 2.3 lbs at 8 weeks and 4 1/2 lbs full grown. Sounds like you will have a big boy, but not an 18 pounder. I'd say, around 8-9 lbs. |
