For some reason Walmart is trying to keep it silent and just remove them from the shelves, but several deaths have occured already. Don't feed your pets these treats!! http://www.itchmo.com/wal-mart-remov...dog-death-2321 |

I just came home from Walmart, and they're all off the shelves here, thank God !! We buy the Waggin' Train brand in the 2 lbs bag. OMG I just ran and got the bag and THESE are made in China as well:eek: SHOOT~! Now I'm scared to death to feed these to the girls, though it's the brand that we've always used. The Bestro ones my girls didn't like when we tried them months ago. Now I'm wondering if I should just take these back. We still have a few pieces left from the last bag, and there have been no symptoms of anything funny with them, but who knows if this next bag wouldn't be contaminated? I'm really starting to hate China right now, they are trying to KILL us all! |

I'm going to contact the company before I open this next bag. One good thing is that they DO NOT say "Not for human consumption" like the Bestro ones:rolleyes: |

You got it, and I think that they are out to get us:eek: I don't know why, they make so much money from selling their products here. Maybe it's time for a trade embargo against them. How many tainted products will have to be discovered before our government steps in to stop it? Grrr:mad: I'll let everyone know what they say about the Waggin' Train brand ones, I'm getting ready to email them now. I pray that these are safe, because my girls LOVE them so much! |

In light of everything you've seen recently about all the poison pet food and treats could you really feel absolutely safe, secure and confident that what their about to eat is untainted and not give it a second thought?.... |

Good information, thanks for sharing it with us. Made me open my eyes, and my cabinet to see where Winston's treats were made...Thank goodness not in China!!! |
I used to give these to my Maltichon, Chloe. When I got my Yorkie, Bella, I stopped buying them because she would try to swallow it whole, even if I broke it up in pieces for her. She almost choked on a piece once. I'm glad I don't buy these anymore. Thanks for sharing. :) |
I just don't understand why people keep buying dog food and treats from Wal-Mart and places like that with all the problems they've had. What does it take to make people learn? There are so many other places to buy pet food - granted no where is 100% safe, but Wal-Mart seems to be pretty bad... |
I'm a getting scard to give Megan any treats. I had to go out of town Friday ,(first time I left her alone ) I came home and she had blood in her stool. my daughter had come out to check her twice and said she was crying. her stools were Ok this morning but I went out to feed the cat & hubby was holding her & she started shaking & crying. I'm thinking about getting her a sister so she won't be alone. |
Here is the response I got from Waggin' Train about their chicken jerky. Dear Tracy, All of us at ADI Pet, Inc. would like to thank you for your purchase of Waggin’ Train Brand Chicken Jerky Tenders and also tell you that our dogs (our canine family members) eat and love them as well. Our love of dogs is part of the whole Waggin’ Train Brand story. In developing our product, we wanted a highly palatable, all-meat treat that was affordable and made without preservatives, food dyes or other harmful chemicals. Most importantly, we wanted to provide a product for our dogs that was prepared to human-grade standards and would be safe for them to eat. Our search began in the United States where chickens were raised in abundance and the quality of the product was impeccable. However, because chicken breast tenderloins are preferred by most Americans, the demand for this product kept the wholesale prices too high for their use in the pet-food industry. This led us to China. Because white meat is not the part of the chicken preferred by the general populace, we could acquire chicken breast tenderloin fillets in China that were prepared for human consumption, affordable and readily available in large quantity. Knowing that dogs love meat and that premium-grade chicken breast fillets were available in China, we started making Waggin’ Train Brand Chicken Jerky Tenders. The next part of the story was to process the chicken in our jointly-owned factories utilizing human-grade (or better) sanitation and safety standards. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness and high safety standards in all our factories and have openly invited our retail partners - including Costco, Sam's Club and Wal-mart - to visit, inspect and test our products. As of today, every inspection and test visit has achieved 100% satisfaction and approval. In summary, by carefully controlling the methods of meat selection, preparation, cooking and sterilization, we can assure the absolute safety and quality of our Chicken Jerky Tenders. By adhering to strict quality control protocols, we have developed a safe and high-quality pet product of exceptional value and the response from the consumer has been extraordinary! Quality Control Protocol Overview: * Each one of our facilities is state-of-the-art, and has received HACCP certifications for quality processing standards. The certification is the standard that all countries (including the USA) use for processing food for human consumption. * Regarding the ingredients, the only raw material that we use to make the Chicken Jerky Tenders is fresh, 100% premium-grade chicken breast tenderloins. All of our fresh chicken breast tenderloin is sourced from the same company that supplies both Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonalds in China. Additionally, the entire product has a quality standard for human consumption. * The Chicken Jerky Tenders have no grain fillers, wheat gluten or rice protein, nor do they contain artificial preservatives, dyes, colorings or artificial flavorings of any kind! Prior to oven-baking and drying, the tenderloins are marinated in a mixture of natural seasonings. The natural seasonings that we use are simply apple cider vinegar, sugar and salt. * The drying process of the chicken breast tenderloins is based upon USDA manufacturing guidelines. The drying protocol requires the fresh chicken to be dried at temperatures and time durations that will thoroughly dry the product as well as kill any potential micro-organisms. The USDA also requires each batch of dried chicken tenderloins to be inspected and certified by a full time veterinarian. * After drying, the product is cooled and immediately packaged in poly bags to maximize freshness. As an additional step of quality assurance and product safety, the product is irradiated, within the sealed bag, based upon USDA sterilization guidelines. The sterilization process is a required by Costco, however not mandated by the USDA for pet products. This provides a 100% guarantee that the product is completely free from any and all potentially harmful micro-organisms including Salmonella, E.Coli and the bird flu virus. A Certificate of Sterilization is maintained for each batch of products. * Our facilities are regularly inspected by SGS, which is one of the largest and most respected international inspection groups in the world. Our retail partners often utilize SGS for inspections to ensure that the products are being processed based upon USDA processing guidelines. It should also be noted that our process also meets the strictest guidelines of the UK and the European Union. * Additionally, all containers of product that arrive into the USA require Health Certificates. The USDA reviews these documents to ensure that the product meets all US processing guidelines. * Because chicken is a regulated product, the USDA regularly pulls samples from incoming containers of product for laboratory testing. We have never had a positive test for product contamination. At the onset of the pet food recall, ADI Pet contracted with an independent U.S. laboratory to test the following individual ingredients for melamine: *Wheat Gluten * Rice Flour * Soy Protein * Liver Powder All tests came back as ND (none detected). As the recall intensified, the FDA required that our Waggin’ Train Brand pet products (containing grain) be tested by their labs. Again, all tests came back as ND (none detected). Although the Chicken Jerky Tenders do not contain grain, as a precautionary measure, we contracted this same laboratory to test our Chicken Tenders for traces of melamine. The results from this final battery of tests were received on May 17th. The Chicken Tenders were tested being tested for traces of melamine or other foreign particulates. All tests came back as ND (none detected). Please be assured that when you give your dog our Chicken Jerky Tenders, you are providing your pet with the highest quality chicken pet treat that is available in the marketplace. We guarantee that our all-meat treat is one that your dog will absolutely love!
