non-eater Hey all, I am worried about my almost 10 month old Tobie. He has always been such a picky eater, but I am worried because he doesn't eat like I think he should. I offer him food in the morning and night and if doesn't eat it within 15 minutes, I take it up.....or lately I've been leaving it down to let him nibble, but he's not even doing that. He's active and his usual playful self and all and nitpicks at food and is almost 6 pounds. Is this a normal thing for yorkies? Tobie's mom |
Izzy's the same way - she is almost 8 mos and still 2 pounds 5 ounces and she is spayed and we all thought she would gain some from that but not....she gets fed 2x day (1/4 cup) and after a half hour I pick that up. I was not even giving her any people food but then I thought she needed something to get some weight on....I started to give her only healthy food treats like Yorkie Yummies, frozen peas, veggies, etc., so I'll see if that puts a few ounces on her. But I have been watching her eating patterns these past two weeks and some days she eats a lot and some days not...so maybe they just know when they are hungry and eat.....she is healthy and plays and runs with our 3 cats so she must be OK. :cat4: :animal37 |
stewart he has ate science diet puppy food since he came home with us and had no probelm he loved his food then he stopped eating it one day and i was like well what wrong and he had been constapated so i started to mix the wet food with the dry food now he gets so excited when he hears me mixxing it up. Are u feeding only dry? Maybe u can try something different. i know the wet dry mix has saved us...thanks to a lady here on yt...He gets some dry food in the morning and a half of cup of wet dry mix and then come later in the evening with some little snacks in between and he is doing good and looks good my vet told me today. So i hope that helps some:thumbup: |
noneater Zoey was the same way. I felt like she never ate. I just leave her food out and she eats when she is hungry. I still don't think it's as much as other dogs but at least she does eat. She's also pretty picky. I went through 3-4 different foods before I found one she really likes. Have you tried switching foods? |
