yogurt question My mom just bought Layla yogurt- Activa Vanilla. but it is no fat- is that ok??/ i'd assume the difference is they use skim milk instead of 2%?? there is no aspertane or anything in it... anyone know if it is ok? |
That is fine |
I eat the Activa Vanilla Light (yummy). That one does have an artifical sweetener. I have never seen a Fat Free one, hummm |
Yes, nonfat is fine :) |
great THANK YOU!!!!! |
Activa is sweetened with Fructose, and I'm not too sure about the effect it could have on a tiny dog. Fructose is often recommended for, and consumed by, people with diabetes mellitus or hypoglycemia, because it has a very low Glycemic Index (GI) relative to cane sugar (sucrose). However, this benefit is tempered by concern that fructose may have an adverse effect on plasma lipid and uric acid levels, and the resulting higher blood levels of frutose can be damaging to proteins. All fructose must be metabolized in the liver. The livers of the rats on high fructose diet looked like the livers of alcoholics, plugged with fat and cirrhotic. Maybe a little won't hurt Layla, but personally, I wouldn't eat it or even give it to my dogs. |

Mine get the low-fat unflavored. I mix in some kind of berries. They only get yogurt about two times a week or less. |

Yummy Yogurt !! Bogey loves his yogurt. He gets Stoneyfield Farm Organic plain non-fat (large container at Walmart). It has no sweetner in it & 6 live cultures. He gets his two teaspoons as a treat every afternoon. He would die for it !! |
