Strawberries?
 
Are strawberries safe for dogs? I just dropped one & Sadie got hold of it & ate it before I could blink. No chance of getting it from her. Just wondered if they were on the safe list????

All berries are very safe and very healthy. They are full of vitamins and minerals, and vital energy. Dried fruits are especially good natural sources of potassium, an important mineral that can sometimes be in short supply; other good sources are bananas, peanuts, potatoes, and tomato sauce. Dates are extremely rich in folic acid, an important B vitamin.

OK...I feel better now! Thanks! SHe did get the seeds (of course, since I dropped it), but it wasn't even a whole strawberry, so it should be ok. I just hope that she will be ok, even though they are safe for dogs, I have to be very careful of what I give her because of her IBD. Hopefully half of a strawberry won't give her an episode.

My furbabies love strawberries :) Seeds from apples and mangos and avocados and other fruits like that are the ones to stay away from as they are toxic.

dexter has ibd as well. Does she vomit or have diarhea from it? What are you feeding her for this? Did she have pancreatitis?

Yes!1 My girls LOVE them. I take a berry and slice it into several tiny pieces and they just go crazy!!!

it's diarrhea. We can go along fine for a while & then suddenly have runny/mucousy poop for a couple of days & then it goes to blood. But now I know that when it becomes runny/mucousy, I call the vet & get medication before we get to the blood stage. I feed her Prescription W/D. It's high fiber & works for her...unless she gets something odd...like a strawberry.

I was right...we've woken up to an upset tummy this morning.

I would think any kind of fruit would be good for them. Mine prefer veggies.

fruit is good but must not have any seeds including strawberries
