Seizure like episodes and Revolution
 

I gave Revolution to my 3 and 6 pound puppies and they started acting crazy. They started rubbing their faces on the carpet and cushions and just acting all weird. Have any of you experinced such episodes?

Wiping their mouth?
 

After I feed my boys dinner (meatloaf&veggie casserole) they use my couch as a giant napkin and rub their heads and faces on it. Just a sort of celebration using Yorkie-esque table manners, I guess :animal-sm

Does it have an odor that is discernible to them? (I've never used it, so I have no idea.) If it does have an odor, they may be trying to rub it off. :)

Sounds like an allergic reaction,that happened to my puppy,just like you described it :aimeeyork

my comet reacts the same way after his frontline plus treatment and after his baths. He doesn't like to have anything foreign touching his coat. He rubs his face on the carpet too and acts weird until the medication absorbs into his skin. He does the same thing when he gets wet. This behavior is perfectly normal to my comet. I doubt that it is anything other than that, but always check with the vet to be certain.

toby does this...... but i use advantage...... i dont see anything wrong with it, toby does it after his bath too. . . it is just a way to get whatever (water flea stuff, ect... ) off his coat

My boys have been on Revolution since they were about 5 months old, and approximately 3 pounds. They always act that way when I apply it, but they act that way when they eat ice cream, get bathed, when I spray their coats with conditioner, after they eat, I think that it is just a yorkie thing, my first yorkie, Whit did the same thing.

Oreo Acts like this as well.. after a bath though.. lol he goes NUTS! i thought he was having a seizure or something.. but he was just rubbing his face everywhere to dry off lol.. it was fine with me because he was helping me lol :D

I hope its nothing serious with your baby.. i've never used revolution, but was looking into using a good flea/tick preventative..

Revolution appears to be safe to use in pregnant or lactating dogs or cats. Do not apply to wet hair. Dogs should be tested for existing heartworm disease prior to using Revolution.

In the event of overdose
Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room. Symptoms of overdose, while rare, may include salivation and incoordination.

How should I store this medication
Store this medication at room temperature, in the original box. Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and pets.

I am so sorry, I did'nt realize Revolution was a flea & tic medicine!
I would not use any drug that causes an adverse reaction. :confused:

Revolution is a flea/tick, heartworm, mange, mite medication. Adverse reactions are rare. Like anything else, there may be the one in a 1,000, 10,000, 100,000 or a million that has a bad reaction. What I believe the original poster is reacting to is a normal reaction for our yorkies. My boys go nuts if I spray hair conditioner on them, wet them down, give them a bath, brush their hair LOL, whatever, they run around and try to "rub" it off. They do the same thing if I put bows or barrettes in their hair. This is normal behavior for dogs, and it seems especially yorkies!! I don't believe that what she is describing is a seizure type behavior or an adverse reaction to Revolution.

i use revolution on my 2. they have the same reaction when i first put it on them. i think it kind of stings them at first. like when you put alcohol on your self. i dont' think it hurts them.

I use Advantix and my dogs did the same thing, but then again, they do it after a bath. But if you are concerned about it, contact the company or your vet.

I talked to Vet and she said that it is a normal reaction. I guess you can apply 5x more and it won't hurt the little guys. Thanks for all your help.

Now I won't worry every month.
