double set of TEETH 2 Attachment(s) Hi Spanky has a double set of teeth. I no that yorkies normally have a problem with 2 to 4 of there teethe needing to be pulled (my mom use to be a vet/breeder)she never seen this many. So what to do about all his front and bottom teeth being doubled the vet wanted to pull the top two when we had him fixed and called his dad last minuet he said no so i had no say at that point (i was not reachable) Now he is 1 1/2 years old. and still has all these teeth top and bottom. I dont want him to have problems because of this. someone on here before said it can take awile for the baby teeth to fall out. But then his Groomer mention it to us saying she never seen that before and we should have them all pulled. What would you all do ??????? anyone ever seen this before? we tryed just about everything to get them to loosen up. my mom sugested a few tricks. or we could go have every other one pulled. Thanks for any help you may have for him. |

are doubled teeth really that common? Bella's lower canines are doubled. I plan on having them pulled when I spay her soon. |

The vet removed 9 of Stella's when she was spayed a couple weeks ago because of this. She had a couple in front but most were in the back, reminded me of a sharks mouth. |
I'd have them removed by a vet. Daisy had two sets of ''fangs'' too for a few weeks. We had them removed at the same time when she got spayed and microchipped at 7 months. |

Willie had a few doubled-up teeth, but Archie had a whole mouth full! His mouth looked like a shark's - top and bottom. Had all the extra teeth pulled when they were neutered. Getting those extra teeth out made all the difference in his breath. |
My sisters Ada had doubles and one got infected...it was smelly smelly bad! Id have them removed! |
Emmy had some doubles. We had them removed. Tartar and decay are problems! |
Our little Ginger had the doubled fangs and a few others in the back. They didn't show up until after she had been spayed, otherwise, our vet said, he would've pulled them then. We had to do another surgery to have them pulled and it really worried me but she survived just fine. Our vet said the biggest worry with doubled teeth being left alone, it the amount of tartar and plaque that builds up in between the teeth. Sometimes you can see it and sometimes you can't. Those crevices between the teeth are really narrow and deep. With our new baby, our vet will look really closely at her teeth when she is spayed. Hopefully, if she is going to have doubled teeth happening, that it will show up at that time. Yes, do it - no matter how old she is. I agree with everyone's comments so far, about teeth decay and the bills that could create if you don't have it done now. Good luck and keep us posted. |
I have just noticed that my lil Izzie has a second set of lower fangs growing (just now breaking through the gum) so far that is all I'm seeing....She is 5 months old and I have been playing lots of tug of war games with her along with giving her plenty of chew toys and hope that the primary teeth will come out on their own. What I am wondering is at approximately what age are all of their permanent teeth grown in so that when she has to (if necessary) have any remove I can have it done all at once :confused: |
I would have ask your vet to pull the teeth out immediately . Infections arrive very fast with toy breeds . |
Tiny also had a double set of teeth, when I took him in to be neutured last week, the vet counted how many teeth needed to be taken out. EIGHT! No wonder he chewed through my table leg! |
