4+ month yorkies-Feedings & Poopings ahah i like my subject line ;) And I apologize if this may be a kinda weird question, but I'm sitting here wondering... ...my little Luigi is 4mo. and i'm feeding him 3times/day. But I'm wondering if I switched to 2 times a day, would he poop less (maybe not less poop, but less times to go and let it out)? Meaning..if I fed him the same amount of food as I give him now, but rationed it out by giving it only twice per day, he'd only have to go poop like 1-2 times a day, rather than 3 or 4? Is he still too young to start feeding 2 times per day? Hope that makes sense. I want to know if I can lessen the amount of times I clean up poop in a day  Basically, please lemme know how often you feed your 4+ month old yorkie and how often do they usually poop a day according to that feeding schedule? thanks in advance :) sorry for saying "poop" 2893423 times in one posting. |
Oh..and in case this is helpful for answering my questions: i feed him 1/4 cup per each serving when I feed him 3x/day, cause he needs about 3/4 cups in 1 day. |
I feed my almost 6 month old 2x day and he poops 2x a day. Boiled chicken in the morning with missing link, dry kibble with wet food in evening. |
Feeding 2 times will likely result in 2 poops. ;) Eventually he will start to loose interest in his "lunch" If you have to encourage him to eat, then it's time to start feeding twice a day. Otherwise, wait until he is a little older (like 6 months). Mine eat twice a day. And poop twice a day. :D |
I free feed all of mine - meaning leave the food in the bowl all day. My 4 mth old Stormy only poos 2 x's a day. which brand of food is he eating? They seem to poop less when given a good quality food without the corn , fillers, etc. Try one of the 4 or 5 star ratings puppy food. http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...iews/index.php |
