Is this normal, in your opinion?
 
Shankly was born in February 05 and when looking at his teeth, on the top, each side, he has 2. This strikes me as strange. I know one on each side is baby teeth, but my question is will they come out? His canines look rather large and either way, they will crowd the baby ones.

Discuss please? :)

I don't know about dog teeth. Maggie was born Feb. 26th, of this year. She hasn't lost any teeth yet, but I did notice there are some spaces on each side that has no teeth. I was wondering are those spaces for bigger teeth, or has she lost them on both sides and I just missed it. I do know that the more she chews on her toys, the sharper her little puppy fangs get. Wow, they are so sharp.

I'm asuming that you are talking about extra canine teeth (I-teeth, incisors). A friend of mine's 10 month old yorkie has extra sets on her bottom jaw. Another friend of mine's had extra sets on her upper jaw. She went to the vet to have them removed.

Gracie had extra sets on her upper jaws and during her pregnancy, she lost one. After she whelped the pups, she lost the other.

Hi , Kai was born in december 04 , she also has this going on , I know that one of them fianlly fell out , but the other one seems to be stuck like glue , I figured Id wait a week or two and see if it get's loose and if it does not I will take her to the vet. I know they are supost to come out , I just dunno why they are not!!! :confused:

Seems like it's a fairly common phenomenon. I just noticed them last week and my Mom in law (who breeds dogs in England) said they will come out eventually. I just think that it may be painful to him. He's been acting really strange lately. Wanting to play all night while we try to sleep. Whining and crying, and when you get up to see what's wrong, he tries to play.

I didn't want to run him to the vets as my experience with most of them is that they need you to spend enormous amounts of money on erroneous tests and stays.

My friend that got her dog's teeth pulled, it was suppose to cost $150 to pull 2 incisor teeth. Well, when she went to pick her up, it cost almost $500. They pulled an additional 7 teeth. No phone call to ask if this was okay, no phone call for suggestions, just did it and then charged her. Needless to say, no one I know uses that vet because they've done this with other people...charge an enormous amount.

But I might add that this place is like a people hospital and has after-hour emergency care. But you will pay for it!

It's good to hear that this is fairly common. I was getting worried that Bodhi's bite might get out of alignment.

Bodhi has had 2 lower adult Canines pushing out the baby Canine teeth. He hasn't complained, but I've given him ice cubes several times a day. We've also encouraged chewing on his rubber Greenie and some gentle Tug of War.

One finally popped out today. Doesn't look like we'll need to make a vet visit after all.

I'm glad because I don't really want Bodhi to go under anesthesia again. (He was neutered about 3 weeks ago)
