Question about gaining weight Ok so Turbo is due to be 1 here in August. He seems so tiny. He has food out constantly, and he EATS! But he feels really thin to me. I can feel his ribs more than I would like. I have read that some of you give cottage cheese to the babies, but would that be enough to help him get some weight on? I would take him to the vet, but, being a military base...it is a LONG wait. I am still making an appt for him, but wanted some of your opinions in the mean time. Thanks in advance! |
hummmm, i don't know. someone will come along to help you out i am sure |
We have felt the same about Kiwi. She just turned one and when you touch her you can feel every little bone. She has food out all the time and eats. We asked the vet if she was too thin and the vet said no. We feed her cheese slices and eggs once in a while for a treat and to help her put on weight. She weighs 5 lbs. She is long but very fragile in frame. |
I think Yorkies tend to feel boney sometimes. There are 2 other yorkies that live near me and they both feel slightly boney and there are times I notice my little man feeling boney. :twocents: |
I would reconsider what food your feeding. Some have too much filler. Have you thought about feeding "real" food? It's the best and healthiest. |
Thanks for the replies! I will look into new food...now just gotta get my friend to come translate the Kanji for me! |
Feeding my yorkie real food helped her gain weight.. but i only use them as treats so that she still eats her kibbles. :aimeeyork |
