Canidae I have been researching some food choices for Bella, and I think I would like to try Canidae....have you had good experiences with this food? Of course...my vet recomends "science diet", but I have heard too many bad things....I want something healthy for my baby! Bella is an 11 week old puppy, who weighs about 2.8lbs. If i go with canidae, do I order the All Life Stages Formula...is this ok for puppies? Also, does anyone know of a website where I can order Canidae and have it shipped, b/c the closest store is about an hour from me? |
I researched for my puppy and he eats Innova. He's doing great on it. |
most definitely! Hey. I switched my baby to Canidae a couple of months ago and it is great. Lexie loves it, and even accepts it as a treat! Her coat and eyes are so shiny. I ordered mine from www.petfooddirect.com. I got two 5lb bags and the price was about $6 per bag. I highly recommend it. You can check Canidae's website and see if any pet stores around you sell it. Unfortunately none here do, so I have no choice but to order online. Good choice. |
Well now, my dog doesn't like Innova enough to accept it as a treat, maybe I ought to switch over, too. |
We feed all of our pets Canidae products....even our kitties get Felidae. It is an excellent high quality food! Yes, you can feed all different ages, including your puppy, the Life Stages. We feed Livi the canned Canidae along with the dry. Tammy |
Canidae is definitely one of the best foods. We switched Mojo over the the Lamb and Rice formula (I believe) and he and Lily both gobble it up. They even love the biscuits too (which are big, but can be broken apart easily). I wish I had learned about it years ago! I am blessed to have a local store that carries it! Thank goodness!!! |
Canidae Canidae is in my lil doggie mix....I have Innova Evo, Innova Puppy, Chicken soup for the puppy lovers soul, and Canidae all life stages. Diggy has to eat frequent meals with his hypo and he gets bored with one food all the time...So I have to hand feed him and he gets one of these 4 foods, whichever his lil stubborn butt will eat. lol I think your making a great choice and you can go directly to the website and search thru store locator or google it and see who sells it online. Good luck! :D |
Yesterday, I gave Maxwell Canidae -- boy, I was impressed. He ate his breakfast right off the bat, did the same in the evening. Again today. He loves it. Before, he would eat his puppy food, but in spurts and never enthusiastically. Thanks for the headsup. |
Canidae is awesome. |
I switched Emma to Canidae a couple of months ago when all the dog food was being recalled and I can definitely see a difference in her, her eyes don't water as much as they did before and her hair seems fluffier |
I have Willy on Canidae, and have for about 2 years. He loves it and I rarely have to deal with him having runny poop:thumbup: , which was almost a monthly thump with his last food. I have even changed over 2 of my cats to Felidae.;) Desiree |
I am in the process of switching Roxie from Royal Canin puppy to Canidae All Life Stages. She is transitioning very well. She picks out all of the Canidae kibbles before the Royal Canin kibbles and I can even give Canidae as a treat! :animal36 |

We switched to Canidae after the food recalls started and Vinnie just loved it! I contacted lots of companies and inquired about samples and Canidae was the only company to come through. They sent both Chicken and Rice and All Stages. They really are a great company! Go to their website and they'll send the samples out immediately! |
We have just recently swtiched Avery to Canidae, she is almost 9 weeks old and loves it!! she too accepts this as a treat(i dont know if this is because it is still new and exciting or what?? haha) i have heard nothing but great things about this food and Avery really seems to like it. -probably because her breeder was feeding her that crap IAMS wet food and she was so thrilled to eat good food!! haha. i am still softening it with just a little water though.. because she is still so little, and has been used to the wet food. anyways.. SO FAR so GREAT!! :) |
I switched all of my Yorkies to Canidae a few weeks ago. They absolutly Love Canidae. |
Where do you get that food at, or do you have to order it online? |

Ok. I use Iams, and I haven't had any problems with it so far. |
Sheba tried Canidae but the kibble was so small that even if I mixed it with a fingernail sizeful of canned, because she won't eat dry without it, she would swallow the Canidae whole. She's on Solid Gold now...she likes beef and it's kibble is large enough that she has to actaully chew. |
Both Nico and Lexi LOVE Canidae! Thumbs up! |

I just switched my girls to Canidae and they both love it. I found a golden setter breeder lady that buys it in bulk :p and I got 2 40 pound bags for $26.00 each. Isn't that a steal? |
Canidae is great!!!!!!!! The "All Life Stages" formula is perfect suitable for puppies as well as adults and seniors. |
Canidae is a great food, top notch. I'm switching from it to Orijen, which I think is even better. |
Canidae 3 Attachment(s) I have fed Canidae for over two years. My dogs are all extremely healthy, active and have beautiful coats. Here are a couple of random pics. The last one is of Little BoyBlue (Jazzy) and Mr. GreenJeans (Chico). The pups start eating Canidae at 10 to 12 weeks. I still offer them puppy food, but they gravitate towards the "grown-up" food. Canidae is a food for All Life Stages, and the pups are telling me that they are healthy (active, good appeitie, nice coats). |
:) I love Canidae! I have a 6 yr.old and a 9 mo. old. who eat together. That was the main reason for trying it. Works great for both, and Uma has no flaking of the skin on this, she did have a little prob. on the other food. |
how do you say it? I am new here and so im sure this has been asked a thousand times but... is it pronounced can-a-day or cane-a-day. I thought it was cane-a-day like canine. |
we like it. and it's great for eye boogers. |
My dogs have been eating Canidae for the past few months and they love it! We have two dogs, Gracie, a 70 lb lab/rot mix and my little Yuki. I noticed that Gracie doesn't shed as much and her #2's aren't as big or smelly. She also has more energy (she's 5 yrs) and Yuki's hair has gotten a lot softer. It's great food! |
