Innova Adult Dog Food and Innova Evo Are you supposed to MIX a little bit of Innova Evo with Innova Adult Dog Food together or are they supposed to be used as 2 different foods? I'm confused lol :D Innova Adult Dog Food http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...duct=155&cat=3 Innova Evo http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...duct=523&cat=8 Does anyone feed this food to their dog? Innova Evo got 6 stars and Innova Adult Dog Food got 5 stars from the Dog Food Analysis website. |
You can mix them, but they are not made to be mixed per se. Innova Evo is REALLY high in protein. The editors of the dogfoodanalysis website believe the higher the protein, the better. I don't necessarily believe that that much protein is necessary or even good for our little itty bitty dogs. Maybe for working/performance dogs, but not for little lap dogs. But others have different opinions about that. So, you'll have to make your own informed decision. |
I mix all kinds of stuff...I always have Innove Evo in the mix. It is very high in proteing but a baby with a healthy liver is great food...So I mix CHicken Soup for the puppy lovers soul or Canidea with Innove Evo. MOst Holistic food are good.:D So basicaly your doing just fine! Great choice in Innova! |
I thought too much protein wasn't good for yorkies? |
I heard its not bad if its real protien like from meat but Im not sure. I also heard if your baby does not have a compromised liver...then protiein is fine. Im no vet though lol (wish i was) I am still leary of it (im a paranoid person over my babies) thats why I mix with something else too. :D |
High protein is also not good for compromised kidneys. |
I think High Protein is not good for dogs...that's why they can't eat cat food. It'll cause kidney problems. Evo might work well for bigger very active dogs. I tried Evo for my cats a few months ago and it gave both of the severe diarrhea. I think it was just too high in protein for them (50%). Never tried the dog food because I feed raw but after seeing what the cat food did to my cat, I'd stay away from it. I would go with the regular Innova over the Evo. |

Maybe I'll just stick with the regular Innova but I'm going to do a bit more research first. Anyone else have experience feeding their dog Innova? |

Mine eat Natural Balance Ultra and i usualy add a handful of Evo in with it and never had soft stools , they love NB but they eat the Evo too. Have a small sack of the reg. evo and a bag of the red meat. They are healthy, mabe a little too healthy....;) They been eating that for over a yr. |
Both of my girls eat Innova EVO and they love it! I have had no problems with loose stools or anything. In fact, and I don't know if this is possible, but it seems that since they have eating it their coats seem thicker. |
I feed both my dogs Innova Adult & they love it. I've fed it for almost a year & have had no problems **knocks on wood** lol!:p |

Yes, raw is almost all meat, but it's RAW meat which means there is a lot of moisture in the food. It's not concentrated cooked meat so that's why it's not as high in protein as you think it would be. The dry grain free foods don't have the moisture that canned and raw have so the animals have to drink a lot more water to get that moisture they need. |
