Peeing every 5 minnute? I've been litter box training Benjamin with treats... But lately he will go and actually pee a tiny bit like every 5 minutes.. He will hold it at night for almost 8 hours... but when i let him run around he is constantly...Im not sure if he has a bladder problem or is just forcing himself to get treats... |
I would think if he had a bladder problem he would be going frequently during the night as well. I suspect he is figuring out the connection between the treat and peeing, so he is trying to get more treats. Maybe start treating him every other time he goes on the pad? |
::sigh:: as soon as i post a question...Now its not limited to the pad its all over my darn house!!! Im pulling my hair out!!! I assume he is marking his territory..How do i make him stop.? |
treat! How old is little Ben??? I am going through this with Diggy. Its like Pee fest 2007 at my house and I am a CLEAN FREAK its killing me. I have been told most boys dont get the potty training until 6 months...I know some are saying, well my lil johnny did it at 8 weeks....Im saying in general. Every Yorkie book I read, my vet, and my back up vet all say the same. Stick with it all the sudden it will click. Until that time im withyou...pulling my hair out! ANd yes I totally think your is relating peeing to treats, Bella is 2 and still does the same thing. She'd pee every 2 minutes if Id let her, she always has that lil bit to force out OR she just hikes her leg and pretends. Stick with it, and dont pull too much hair out! |
i would also say bladder problem. |
I dont know... Im just getting so fed up I am also a neat freak.. and this is just getting to be riddiculous. |

How old is he? If he is urinating in the house then he is not yet potty trained and you will have to confine him in a small area until he gets it. If not it will get out of control and may be very difficult from then on. Confine him to a small area in a playpen or gate him in a kitchen. You will have to let him out frequently so he does not have an accident. Only let him out to pee. If he does not go right away bring him back in. If he goes right away praise him and bring him in. Until he gets the idea that he is going outside to go potty and not play you should not leave him out for long periods of time. Hope this helps some. Good Luck!! |
i'm curious about the litter box. can they poo in it too? is it a pain to clean?? i was thinking of getting one myself. about how much is the "upkeep?" thanks a ton! ps-i think he's trying for treats! |
