London and her bad breath London's breath smells bad and idk why?!? She used to eat her poop but doesn't any more cause she knows it's wrong. But her breath always smells bad and i'm worried that it's for a reason cause Teddy's breath doesn't smell and never has. Back when I was looking for a female (her) i was talking to a breeder and she said how she used to have a yorkie full grown at 1.5 lbs and she died at 1 yrs old, and they never knew why but she said one thing is that she had really bad breath and the vet thought it was something wrong with her liver or inside her tummy. So i'm wondering can this be true with London, also since she's so small? I hope not...but i hate her bad breath! :( |
hm... how old is london??? We noticed the same problem with bailey, and then it went from BAD to WORSE finally after about a week we looked in her mouth and discoverd that her baby teeth never fell out... her adult teeth were growing right behind them! This was causing food to get stuck in between wich caused the HORRIBLE breath! We got her teeth pulled and now... NO MORE BAD BREATH! Its just a thought but I would check her teeth very thoroughly. |

Im possitive thats what it is then! We were amazed that the horrible breath that was comming out of our little one was all because of a few baby teeth! but It made all the difference. Bailey just got hers pulled out when she went in for her spay also. Make sure you ask them to save the teeth they pull! We have Baileys... they are so tiny! =) Let us know how the surgery goes when you get it done! And make sure to pay special attention to hypogycemia... Bailey is tiny like London and her surgery went well but we had some problems with her hypoglycemia when the surgery was over because they have to fast the night before, and by the time the surgery was over her blood sugar was very low! We spent the next night up with her on our laps all night waking her up every 2 hours to make her eat and drink... |

Aw thanks so much, London is adorable! With Bailey, we got to take her home the same day (we droped her off at 9 am and picked her up at 4pm) I guess thats unusual because most of the people i have talked to on here said they had to leave their baby over night.... I guess it just depends on the vet. |
Rebel's bad breath was a result of his baby teeth not falling out and the permanent ones coming in with them. (Shark teeth:D ) Maybe that's what's causing London's problem. |
Bad breath was always a problem with my 3 lb poodle ( he is 6 yrs old) and I asked several vets what the problem was, even after a teeth cleaning, he would have bad breath again within a few days. Finally I found the right vet to ask, and he knew right away what the problem was and put him on clavamox to clear up chronic tonsilitis caused by high count of bacteria in his mouth, he said it was not catchy but was just something that would affect him the rest of his life, he has prescribed clindamycin hydrochloride drops 2 X day for 4 days a month to keep bacteria down, I started this treatment about 3 mos. ago and for the first time my little poodle has fresh breath, and he seems to feel a whole lot better too. Not saying your little one is having same problem but its sure worth considering, the one thing I noticed was a sensitivity to touch aroung the throat area and below ears. |
Same exact thing with Sadie - when she still had her baby teeth, her breath was HORRIBLE. Since she had the baby teeth pulled, her breath is as sweet as roses - LOL!!! :p :p |
Marley also had that problem.....I used dental floss until they came out. (I actually think it helped loosen them up);) ;) |

I'm sure she just needs her baby teeth pulled. When are you getting her fixed? |
it could be the baby teeth cause i know frankies breath never stank and then when inoticed his baby teeth had not fallen out and his new ones came in he had the worst beath in the world i mean i didnt even want him to look at me he smelled so bad like poop and yuck but he is having his teeth pulled today while he gets netured so i will let you know how it goes with teh bad breath now what should i do though after his teeth are pulled, im sure my vet will tell me but like what does he need to eat or, what kind of after care will he have for those that have posted that their babies teeth have been pulled |
once baileys baby teeth were pulled she felt so much better! Her appetite encreased and she was so much happier, there really was no aftercare |
