ITchy Dog Benji has been very itchy this a.m. (His foot, neck, backend, back). I used an anti-itch spray and lotion on him made for dogs. He's still itchy. The only things I can think of is that I've been giving him a teaspoon of Alpo wet with his food (he wants what the other who's sick gets) which I see contains soy, and last night he was running around a dirt filled area of the yard. Does anyone know of a soy allergy or an allergic reaction from dirt or weeds? Tonight Benji will get a bath with his cortisone shampoo. Thanks. |
Coco has been itchy too. I don't let her go outside yet because she's still young but just cleaning up around my house, changing her food and bathing her helped a little. I just started giving her flea medicine. I hope it wasn't fleas (I didn't see any). I think weeds and stuff is bound to make them itchy because there are so many little bugs in there. |
I have been going crazy with my Chloe. She has been itching and biting herself. So far dermatologist said she is allergic to pollen and mildew etc. and also we changed her food to IVD which has no fillers etc. etc. but she is still itching. Now when she bites herself pink I spray on Veternarians hot spot spray which is very good. Also now she is on Benadryl 3 x a day and that has helped some but still itching. Also she is on The missing link supplement now for a few days. It will probably take more time for it to go through her system and help. So, I am at my wits end so to speak trying to help my little one feel better. Next step will be back to Veternarian for a pin prick test which she would have to be put under anesthesia for which I am leaving for a last resort if the Benedryl and missing link doesn't make her somewhat comfortable. It's OK if she itches on occasion but If she becomes miserable then I will have to consider the testing. Good luck with your little one. Linda C |
