question? Well i have been feeding gracie the nutro natural choice small bites chicken and oatmeal puppy food well she likes it i had switched to the chicken because she didnt like the lamb very much. Well anyway she is a year old now so i switched her to the adult chicken and oatmeal but they dont make the small bites! Well the kibble is quite a bit bigger than what she is used to with the small bites! Any advice ?Anyone else have this problem? |
Noone? Should i switch food ? crush her food ? what! |
I would crush the food if she likes it |

I agree.....can you break them in half by hand? Maybe a pain but worth it if thats what she wants! |
I have tried both the small bites and the regular. My dogs are small (4 to 6 pounds) and I prefer the larger ones as they are less likely to aspirate them and I feel the chewing to make it smaller is probably good for their teeth. So I still buy the regular size kibble. JMO. I do use the smaller bites as training treats, though. |
put it in the food processor and pulse it a couple of times. |
wow, that is the same food maggie eats. But I cook for her now and I leave the dry kibbles out and she will eat them some during the day but late at night she goes in and eats them real good. She just turned a yr old today, why should I have to change it to adult food or should I? she dont like many kinds of dog food and i thought since she is eating good i would just leave her on those for in between her meals. At least I know shes getting vitamins and other necessary essentials that she might be missing in my home cooked food. I've been giving her boiled hburger and rice somedays and other she gets boiled chicken and rice and she loves it and eats 2 times a day with that where she had been where she did good to eat once a day. and sometimes I mix cottage cheese in her dry food and give her that and she loves cottage cheese with any of it. Do dogs really need to be switched to adult when their 1 yr old? |
