Pica Puppy?? Lately I've been EXTREMELY stressed out over my furbaby. He has been eating everything. I posted a thread before about him eating random things & I was told that it was normal for puppies to do that and I do everything I can to keep things away from him. But no matter what he still manages it. The other day (I hope this isn't too super gross- I have many pets & I'm used to it) he had a "business trip"- my mum calls it that lol- and his poop just didn't look right. In the end we figured out that he had eaten & passed a piece of floss, string, dog hair, wood chips (from my ferrets cage I'm guessing) and bits of leaves for goodness sakes! Talk about a major freakout for me! I'm so scared that he's going to eat something and not be able to pass it. What if he eats something, it gets stuck & his whole little belly get's clogged up!? I'm just scared for my lil bud and was wondering if anyone could relate or has any tips.. :eyebrow2: Thanks a bunch.. |
My baby is the same way. Dolce gets into everything and anything. I mean she has eaten dirt, leaves, sticks, the stuffing of her stuffed animals, wood chips from when we redid our kitchen, plaster, dixie cups, toilet paper....u name it she's gotten it. I have even heard her playing with a screw and almost lost it...she thought i was crazy the way i was ranting and raving for her to "drop it". I have used that term since she was a puppy and she has somewhat gotten the idea of it means to stop what shes doing and drop what is ever in his mouth. U could try using this term or another when u catch him chewing on something he is not supposed to. This way if u see him playing with something u are afraid for him to eat, and u use this term, he will drop it out of his mouth. I know its frustrating because u are scared for their little tummies...but just watch what is on the floor and keep an eye on him. They are very curious and it seems EVERYTHING tastes good to them. With Dolce, it usually passes whateva it is she is eating, but I still worry...I would say just to watch him and make sure nothing toxic gets into him. Also if u suspect something is blocking his tummy, a vet visit would definitely be in order. :) Hope this helped a little...take care!! |
Ramsey eats everything!! There is nothing that Rams wont put in his mouth. He is real bad with the carpet and the other day he was chewing on the mop. (my mom forgot to put it in the laundry room after cleaning). He even chewed the remote to the TV, and the chucks of it that are gone still have not shown up. So I 'm scared of what you are talking about as well. He still has regular bowl movements. So I guess I just need to wait??? |
