Intestinal Blockage due to Rawhide I was reading on a previous post that rawhide if swallowed can cause blockage in your yorkies' intestinal tract, only to have to have an operation done to remove it. Does anyone know of signs to look for, this happened to Ollie a few days ago and I have been watching his stool since then. Everything is normal so far.:aimeeyork |
Bloody stools, constipation, straining while pooping. |
yes, and with a true blockage, he'll stop pooing altogether and possibly even throw up. Don't worry too much. Dogs have been eating rawhide for ages and it is relatively rare that a blockage happens. (of course, ONE time is once too many) It's good to keep an eye on him, but don't let yourself panic unless you see signs of a problem. |
My vet gives her little fox terriers rawhide & recommended it to help their baby teeth come out on their own. |
