trachea collapse My little Yorkie -Candy- is 5 years old. She was diagnosed with chronicle trachea collapse 2 years ago. All was well with her until she started gaining weight. She weighs 10 pounds now and her breathing has worsened. Sometimes she gets these attacks and fetches for air. I have put her on a very strict diet. She seems to be doing a little better. However, the problem is that I can't walk her too much, before she starts having problems breathing. Vet's have told me that a surgery is very risky but that if she would lose some weight she would do much better. Can someone give me tips in terms of what/how often/how much to feed her? I walk her "mini walks" three times a day. Is that enough excercise? Will she still lose weight if I feed her less? thanks candy's mom |
Angelle, Im so sorry your little one Candy was dx with Tracheal Collapse. I dont know much about it. But i found this link you can read some info. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Con...=1&SourceID=42 Hope is useful. I think as long she is walking some that is helpful that none walks at all. You should talk to your vet to put Candy on a weight loss program. Good luck with your little one. Please keep us posted. Welcome to YT. |
