Is this okay? The first day Wobie was home, he did not eat a thing, and I assumed it was because he was so stressed. He refused Nutrical also (but I gave it to him anyway). He still doesn't eat very well, and I know he's not stressed out anymore, he acts totally normal, except for not eating well. At the breeders, he had been weaned and on dry food for quite a while. However, now he will not touch his dry food. To get him to eat, I soak his dry food in water and pedialyte until its soft. Then I mash it up until its like thick and soupy, and feed it to him out of a spoon or off my finger. He won't eat by himself. I still supplement with Nutrical, which he likes now, because I worry that he isn't eating enough. Do you think he'll eventually eat his hard food? I always have it out for him, but he has never touched it. Is it okay to feed him like this? |
My baby Roxy was picky when we first brought her home. We make her a supplement gruel mixture of Nutrical and a protein powder the breeder provided. She absolutely loves it. How old is your puppy? Mine was 4 months when I got her and is teething so she eats off and on. I would say give it some time and it sounds like what you're doing is right. Depending on the age, it could be a teething problem. I would consult your vet just to make sure. Hope it helps!:animal-pa |
