Spay/neuter regrets? Okay... I've never ever had doubts about spaying my little lola. She is absolutely gorgeous, but she came as the "runt of the litter" and was a badass tomboy. Also she had some hernia problems that were addressed at the same time as her spay, so of course, no regrets there... but... yesterday I found a litter of stray cats. They're a big problem in our neighborhood, and brings us massive flea infestations every year, so I do my best as an upstanding citizen (since they were on my property) to round up the little ones. Of the three absolutely adorable kitties, I managed to round up two of them. One was really mean and angry and kept throwing hissy fits, but the other was just playful and loveable. Lola took to the second one and watched over her as if she were her mommy. It makes me sad to think that I am responsible from taking away her chance at becoming a mom, and seeing her in the yard with the kitten always underneath her (she protected and watched over the kitten everywhere in the yard) I kinda wish she could've had just one litter. I know, I know, be a responsible breeder and all that. I guess My own maternal instincts came out when I saw my little Lola 14 mos. acting like a mommy... *sigh* *sniff* *sniff* Jen |
Awww :) Miko, my male yorkie, does the same thing with Emma, our maltese, that we got a few months ago, and he's a boy! |
My yorkie female anna who isnt fixed but hasnt even been in heat yet she is 5 months old and my fixed male pomeranian both do this to my kittens that my stray cat just had. They watch over these cats like you would not beleive everytime they meow their on it like little parents. its cute. I wouldnt think Anna would be feeling to motherly tho yet since she is not old enough yet. I think shes just interested cuz its differnt. |
Another thing, my yorkie (boy) watches over children. Like my nephews and niece...Whenever they come over or if they spend the night, he is right there making sure they're okay. He reminds me of Nana or Nanny (can't remember) from Peter Pan ;) |
