Map of where the ticks are, check yours.... I've already posted these sites elsewhere, but I thought it important to put it so more people would see it....the first link is to see each state & how many cases have been reported ...the second link is a map showing visually where they are on a map...just to let people know if they should be concerned if they live in a high risk area..... http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvbid/lyme...sesbyState.htm http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvbid/lyme/ld_Incidence.htm |
thanks for the info, I just had Sammy vacinated for lyme disease. I found three ticks on him earlier this spring and now we use frontline. Hope it works. |
Thank you for that info. Why are there so many deer in the northeast? |

And the herds of deer everywhere. In winter, there are so many deerprints on my back lawn, it looks like herds come through overnight. :( |
ahhh, i love living in NJ..... lol there are so many deer in this area because they have no predators except man. so they eat, sleep, and reproduce... |
I also was surprised that it wasn't really the south that had the biggest problem.... |
Well isnt that great I am lucky enough to live in NY, the state that seems to have the most cases reported!!!!:thumbdown  |
thanks for the info! |
Thanks!! great info, glad that we live in Colorado... |
Nice info. Great to be living in NY!:( I've was been bitten by a tick almost 2 years ago, as it must have jujmped onto my skin while I was washing my husband's clothes! He had been upstate NY and when he came home, he had no clue he was infested with them. He too was bitten and never told me until I told him I felt something strange at the nape of my neck. What a gross feeling to pull that sucker off your skin and see it still moving!! It was a brown American deer tick, not usually carriers of Lyme Disease. However, I've been tested for Lyme Disease 2X since I've had a strange rash on my hands for the past year. My husband had 2 odd seizures and was hospitalized , but so far he also tests negative. Staten Island is notorious for ticks this time of year and my neighbor found 2 on her dog last week. Now I really have to be watching Ralphie. |
I know i live in Queens NY hate fleas, ticks and all that yucky stuff :( |
