Obsessive Licking?? The last week Baby has wanted to lick me constantly! I'm not talking about just giving me kisses, I mean lick my leg if I'm not holding her, or if I am holding her she wants to keep licking my arms. Could be need salt? Why is she doing this?? |
Could be salt. Could also be thirst - but she's having an urge to get salt in order to hold on to more salt within her body. Is she dehydrated? Could also just be plain old LOVE - yorkies are notorious kissers. :) |
hmm.. sometimes Layla will do this too.. but usually it is at someone's hand so i just assume she tastes soemthing.. do you use a scented moisturizer on your legs?? could it be that?? Layla will lick for quite a while sometimes... but again i think it is because she is tasting something... |
Nope, I don't really put anything on my legs or arms, only if I'm feeling frisky lol But she is just doing this constantly! over and over till I have to pull her away. I don't think she is dehydrated, she has access to water all the time. |

London does this too, like a cat. But sometimes I have lotion on that smells like fruit and stuff so idk, could be that. |
Maybe she's just grooming you? I often wonder if Hoku didn't have Kalani to groom if she'd pick on me - LOL! |
Mine do that too! Kaya more than Tinka... Kaya will lick anyone, anytime - forever! She's been like that since we got her. I'm trying to teach her "no lick" but so far "no luck!" Waking up in the morning is worse. The two try and outdo each other by seeing who can get closest to my face and try to lick away! :rolleyes: My feet get washed, too when I'm on the computer.... |

Mojo does this too! All the time! To the point that my husband gets aggravated because it is slimy! Ha! Sometimes he will do it when he is excited (of course), or going after toes is a big one. But it is normally him just licking....and licking....and licking.....you get the picture. I am w/ you, he has water bowls all over (filled fresh twice daily, if not more), and I rarely have lotions on (my husband, never), so I just don't know what it is....if they just want to so compassion, love or what..... |
she has her spurts, she will go a couple days and not do it and then she starts up again where she's on a mission to lick................. so I don't know. Guess she just wants to clean us lol |
I had a yorkie a few years ago that did this. I remember the first time I saw her she stood up in the box and licked and licked me. I named her Sugar becuse that's all she gave. She never stopped for all of her 15 years with me. |
My cherie licks herself alot too. She sleeps with me on the bed and she will lick my face, my ears, my hair, whereever she can lay her tongue on...LoL. I have to cover my face with a blanket to temporary stop her. Wonder if this is a problem? |
