Question about shots? I got Emma when she was 10 weeks old the breeder said she had 2 5-way shots. When I took her to my vet when she was 13 weeks old I told them this and they gave her a shot she called it a parvo shot but I just thought she meant parvo/disteamper. When I called back today to make sure when Emma needed her next shot I asked again about the shot she said it was only for parvo since she had already had the 2 5-ways. I know she still needs rabies but as far as her other shots is this right? I'm confused and want to make sure she has all of her shots. |
Gosh, I'm not sure but I bet someone here can answer that for you :) |
i give mine the 5 way shot and it does includes distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza and adenovirus cough so it should have included the parvovirus |
ok so by her getting this parvo booster shot and her getting another parvo booster shot next week that is all she needs and she will have all the shots? |

i give all my puppy shots as a breeder and I give the five way. it already includes the parvo/distemper. i think your vet has made a mistake. In rare cases, the parvo shot can actually cause parvo. i give my new owners the puppies shot record with the label from the vaccine bottles attached. i would speak further with the vet before allowing another parvo shot. |
Thank you so much I didn't think this sounded right. Thanks for all of your help I will definitely talk to them about this I don't want to put her through anymore than is necessary. But it seems that I may have already done that.:( |
